A video highlighted a Fengo-branded GeForce RTX 3080 with 20GB of GDDR6X memory, an unusual configuration that NVIDIA does not list among its standard RTX 3080 reference models. The card was reportedly being sold in China, but its manufacturer, modification history, and current availability have not been independently confirmed.
What was spotted
HotHardware reported on October 3, 2025, that a Bilibili video showed a Fengo-branded RTX 3080 fitted with 20GB of GDDR6X. The report describes the card as a modified or “Frankensteined” model and says it was being sold in the Chinese market. Those details describe the card shown and the reporting; they are not a manufacturer announcement or independently verified product specification. HotHardware’s report
How it differs from NVIDIA’s listed RTX 3080 configurations
NVIDIA’s published RTX 3080 family reference specifications list two memory configurations, both using GDDR6X. Neither is a 20GB model. NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 family specifications
| Reference configuration | Memory | Memory interface |
|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 3080 | 10GB GDDR6X | 320-bit |
| GeForce RTX 3080 12GB | 12GB GDDR6X | 384-bit |
NVIDIA notes that board-partner cards can vary. Its reference specifications establish that 20GB is not a listed standard configuration; they do not explain how the Fengo-branded card reached that capacity or certify its design.

What is known about the cooler
The cooler description is less settled than the headline shorthand suggests. HotHardware describes the card as using a rebranded PNY RTX 3090 cooler design and mentions 16-pin power support. UNIKO’s Hardware later discussed a Fengo/风魄 20GB RTX 3080 video and expressed suspicion about a connection to a PNY RTX 4090 VETRO cooler and PCB. Neither account, as described in the available reporting, independently establishes the provenance of the particular card or confirms an RTX 4090 cooler model. UNIKO’s Hardware’s December 9, 2025 discussion
HotHardware also says the card had additional memory modules on both sides of the graphics card. That is a description attributed to its report, not a verified teardown finding. The cooler and memory details should therefore be treated as reported observations, not as confirmed documentation from Fengo, PNY, or NVIDIA.

What the reported benchmark does—and does not—show
HotHardware says the video included a 3DMark Time Spy result in which the modified RTX 3080 outscored an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. This is one reported synthetic benchmark comparison. The account does not provide a broad gaming benchmark suite, controlled comparison methodology, or independently reproduced results, so it cannot establish that this card is faster across games or other workloads.
More VRAM means greater memory capacity, not an automatic increase in rendering speed. The available accounts do not establish this card’s reliability, thermals, compatibility, or measurable gains in particular applications.

What a prospective buyer should verify
The reporting says the card was being sold in China, but it does not establish a current listing or verify a seller, warranty, return policy, or support channel. A buyer considering any nonstandard GPU should seek evidence specific to the exact unit rather than treating the reported video or brand label as a guarantee.
- Confirm the exact memory capacity, memory type, and card identity with documentation for the unit.
- Ask for the seller’s provenance information and written warranty and return terms.
- Check that the cooler, power connector, and card dimensions are suitable for the intended system.
- Look for independently reproduced performance results for the applications and games that matter to you.
These checks are especially important here because the reported 20GB configuration is outside NVIDIA’s listed reference models, while the card’s origin and support arrangements remain unverified.
