A Certain Scientific Railgun Volume 21 is the manga’s final volume, scheduled to release in Japan on October 27, 2026. A June 26 release report lists a ¥6,380 special edition with a newly recorded drama CD, a booklet and a three-sided storage case. Pre-order timing is unclear: an earlier report set an August 12 close date, while an October 2 listing described orders as open. Check a seller’s live listing before ordering.
What is included in the special edition?
The reported special edition adds three items to the final Japanese volume:

- A newly recorded drama CD
- A special booklet
- A custom three-sided storage case
The June 26, 2026 release report also describes a retailer-exclusive premium bundle pairing the special edition with Diorama Set Vol. 2, an acrylic display set featuring Uiharu Kazari, Saten Ruiko, Mikoto Misaka and Shirai Kuroko. That bundle is distinct from the standard special-edition contents; confirm its inclusion and availability on the specific seller listing. Noisy Pixel’s detailed release report is the source for the reported editions and extras.

Special edition vs. standard edition
| Edition | Reported Japanese price | Reported contents |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | ¥968 | Volume 21; additional contents not stated in the release report |
| Special | ¥6,380 | Volume 21, newly recorded drama CD, special booklet and three-sided storage case |
These are prices reported on June 26, 2026, not verified current retailer prices. The special edition is substantially more expensive than the standard edition, so the choice comes down to whether the three reported extras are worth the premium to you.

Are pre-orders still open?
Current availability is not established by the available reports. Noisy Pixel’s June 26 report gave June 26 through August 12, 2026 as the preorder window. An October 2 Noisy Pixel syndication listing later described pre-orders as open, but did not explain the earlier stated closing date. The later item does not confirm whether a retailer reopened orders or is accepting new listings. The October 2 syndication listing and the June release report therefore do not settle whether orders can be placed today.
Check the seller’s current product page for the exact edition, whether checkout is enabled, the seller and shipping destination. The reported retailer-exclusive Diorama Set bundle should be treated as a separate listing unless the seller explicitly identifies it as part of the offer.
