A Reddit user says they bought a used mining rig on Avito for 3,000 rubles after negotiating down from 5,000 rubles. The buyer reports that it came with nine 6GB P106 GPUs—54GB of VRAM in total—and later claimed more than 30 tokens per second running Qwen3.6 35A3B in Ollama. Those are the buyer’s claims, not independently verified hardware findings or a controlled benchmark.
What the buyer says they bought
In a post on r/LocalLLaMA, user u/markpronkin described finding an old mining farm listed on Avito, a Russian classifieds marketplace. The seller reportedly asked 5,000 rubles because he was unsure whether the equipment worked; the buyer says they negotiated the price to 3,000 rubles.
- Price: 3,000 rubles paid, according to the buyer. Wccftech reported this as about US$35 in its October 6, 2026 coverage; the dollar figure is a conversion, not a fixed valuation.
- Graphics cards: nine P106 cards, each reported as having 6GB of memory.
- Combined memory: 54GB across the nine cards, according to the buyer.
- Storage and boot: the buyer says the rig had no SSD and was booted from a USB stick.
The buyer also says the cards were working. No independent inspection of this particular rig is established by the available accounts.
Why 54GB across nine cards is not the same as one 54GB GPU
The 54GB figure is an aggregate: nine separate cards with 6GB each. It does not mean the system has a single pool of memory that every program can use as if it were attached to one GPU. Multi-GPU software must distribute work and coordinate data across devices, and a model or workload must be compatible with that arrangement.

That distinction matters for large language models. Total memory capacity can help make a model fit across multiple cards, but it does not by itself describe inference speed or ease of setup. Card generation, software support, how memory is divided, and communication between GPUs all affect what a rig can do.
What the reported LLM speed does—and does not—show
The buyer later said the system ran Qwen3.6 35A3B in Ollama at more than 30 tokens per second. They also said the quantization was the default and “probably Q4.” This is an owner-reported result, not a comparable benchmark: the post does not provide a controlled test procedure, context length, or enough detail to reproduce the measurement.

Wccftech describes the P106 as a mining-focused counterpart to the GTX 1060 and notes that these are Pascal-era cards. It also warns that PCIe x1 connections common in mining rigs can constrain communication between GPUs. The coverage does not establish the exact PCIe configuration or measured bandwidth of this buyer’s machine, so that general concern should not be mistaken for a test result on this rig.

The deal’s real-world conditions matter
The low reported purchase price is only one part of the story. The buyer says electricity is included in their rent, which changes how they personally view the operating cost. They did not provide measured wall power, a verified power draw for the cards, or an electricity-cost calculation. The account therefore does not establish that a similar rig would be economical to run elsewhere.

The missing SSD is another practical detail: the buyer says they booted from USB, but did not specify the drive or its capacity or speed. Anyone evaluating a similar used system would need to account for storage and any other missing components in addition to the advertised hardware.

This is a singular second-hand purchase, not evidence of a repeatable price or a tested product recommendation. For a comparable rig, ask for details that make its capacity and performance verifiable:

- Memory: confirm VRAM per card and the number of cards; distinguish aggregate memory from memory on one GPU.
- GPU generation and compatibility: identify the exact card models and check whether the intended software supports them.
- Interconnect: verify PCIe lane width and how the cards communicate rather than assuming all mining rigs share one layout.
- Workload: compare results only when the model, quantization, context length, software, and measurement method are specified.
- Power: measure wall power under the intended workload and calculate cost using local electricity rates.
- Completeness: price in storage and other missing parts, and verify that the cards and rest of the system function.
