Which phone has the better display?
The realme P4 5G has the higher-resolution, higher-refresh-rate panel: its 6.77-inch AMOLED display is listed at 1080 × 2392 and up to 144Hz. The vivo Y31 5G uses a 6.68-inch LCD with 1608 × 720 resolution and a maximum listed refresh rate of 120Hz; vivo also lists 1000 nits HBM. On these published specifications, realme offers more pixels and a higher refresh-rate ceiling. They do not establish comparative brightness in every condition or how either screen looks in person.

Chipset, RAM, and storage: what the specifications tell you
The phones use different processor platforms: the realme P4 5G lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G, while vivo lists a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. The clock speeds published by the manufacturers are not a like-for-like performance test, so they cannot by themselves show which phone is faster in daily use or games.

For memory and storage, realme lists 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options of 128GB or 256GB. vivo lists 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with expansion listed up to 2TB. The Y31 5G’s expansion uses a hybrid SIM/microSD slot, so check the configuration and SIM arrangement you need before buying.
Camera specifications: resolution is not a quality verdict
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera. The realme P4 5G also lists an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 16MP front camera; vivo lists a 0.08MP auxiliary rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Those specifications show differences in listed camera resolution and camera types, but they do not establish which phone takes better photos or selfies. No controlled image-quality comparison is established by the manufacturer specifications.

Battery capacity and charging
realme lists a 7000mAh typical battery capacity (6830mAh minimum) and 80W charging for the P4 5G, with an adapter included. vivo lists a 6500mAh typical capacity (6355mAh rated) and 44W charging for the Y31 5G. These are ratings rather than a direct battery-life or charging-time comparison; actual results depend on usage and charging conditions.
Durability, size, and software
vivo explicitly lists IP68 and IP69 protection for the Y31 5G and describes the conditions for dust and water protection. The company cautions that liquid damage and wear are relevant; an IP rating should not be read as a promise that water damage is covered by warranty. The consulted realme P4 5G specification page does not state an IP rating, which is not proof that the handset has no protection.

The realme is listed at approximately 185g and 7.58mm thick. vivo lists the Y31 5G at 209g and 8.39mm thick, making it heavier and thicker according to the published dimensions. Both manufacturer pages list Android 15 as the base: realme UI 6.0 on the P4 5G and Funtouch OS 15 on the Y31 5G. Update-support duration is not established by those specifications.

Prices vary across the consulted listings, which are not equivalent offers. The realme Store India listing showed ₹30,999 selling price and ₹45,999 MRP for the P4 5G 8GB+128GB configuration at the research access time. Separately, 91mobiles’ comparison page showed ₹20,999 for the realme P4 5G marked out of stock and ₹19,999 for the vivo Y31 5G at Flipkart. These figures have different seller and availability contexts; they should not be treated as a current, configuration-matched price comparison or used to claim a definitive price gap.
The consulted vivo India specification page did not establish a current price. Check the live seller listing and checkout total for the exact RAM/storage variant before deciding; stock, offers, and prices can change.
