Gizmochina’s September 2025 tests put the Realme GT 7 Pro ahead of the Realme GT 7 in AnTuTu and Geekbench 6. That is useful evidence of peak performance in those devices, not a guarantee about every phone, sustained gaming, heat, or battery life.
Which chip has better benchmark results?
In Gizmochina’s September 5, 2025 comparison, the Realme GT 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite scored higher than the Realme GT 7 with Dimensity 9400e in every listed AnTuTu and Geekbench 6 result:
| Test | Realme GT 7 Pro Snapdragon 8 Elite |
Realme GT 7 Dimensity 9400e |
Difference in this phone comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu total | 2,745,602 | 2,123,428 | About 29% higher for the Snapdragon phone |
| AnTuTu CPU | 578,305 | 502,983 | About 15% higher |
| AnTuTu GPU | 1,157,741 | 855,871 | About 35% higher |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 3,122 | 2,208 | About 41% higher |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 9,507 | 7,310 | About 30% higher |
These are scores for the named phones, reported by Gizmochina’s September 2025 comparison. The phones can differ in cooling, RAM, firmware, operating mode, and other design choices, so this is not a controlled test isolating the two chips. NanoReview’s live comparison database also currently favors Snapdragon in several listed categories, but its sample counts are uneven and results can change as devices and submissions are added. Treat it as directional corroboration, not a matched-device test.
How the specifications differ
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is Qualcomm’s original 8 Elite mobile platform, announced in October 2024. It is sometimes labeled “Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 4)” or associated with the earlier “Snapdragon 8 Gen 4” name in comparison databases. It is not the later Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Dimensity 9400e was announced in May 2025. Confirm the exact chipset name and handset model when comparing listings.

| Connectivity advertised by the platform | Wi-Fi 7 and 5G capabilities | Wi-Fi 7 and 5G capabilities |
For detailed platform specifications, see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite product page and MediaTek Dimensity 9400e product page. Supported memory speed, capacity, storage implementation, and real-world performance depend on the phone’s configuration. Likewise, a platform’s advertised connectivity does not confirm which bands, carrier approvals, or regional features a particular handset provides.
CPU and graphics
The CPU designs differ: Qualcomm uses its custom Oryon cores, while MediaTek specifies a mix of Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores. Their GPU architectures also differ: Adreno for Snapdragon and Immortalis-G720 MC12 for Dimensity. Both platforms support hardware ray tracing and gaming features, but chip names and feature support alone cannot predict frame pacing or long-session performance in a particular game.

Process, AI, and connectivity
Qualcomm identifies the Snapdragon 8 Elite as 3nm-class; MediaTek specifies third-generation TSMC 4nm production for the Dimensity 9400e. Process labels alone do not establish which phone will run cooler or last longer on a charge. The manufacturers’ AI descriptions are not a common independent benchmark, so they do not establish a universal AI winner. For connectivity, the phone’s modem and radio implementation, antennas, bands, carrier approval, and regional variant determine what you can actually use.
What the results mean for gaming and demanding apps
The cited results support a narrow conclusion: the Snapdragon-equipped Realme GT 7 Pro delivered higher peak benchmark scores than the Dimensity-equipped Realme GT 7 in that comparison. They do not show how either phone performs after a long gaming session or guarantee the same ranking across all devices using these platforms.

For gaming, look for reviews of the exact phone that report long-session frame rates, frame-time consistency, throttling, cooling design, and performance in the games you play. Game-specific optimization and the phone’s thermal limits matter alongside peak GPU capability. A lower result in this particular comparison does not mean the Dimensity 9400e is unsuitable for demanding use.
Qualcomm says its Oryon CPU delivers “a 45% performance boost, 44% greater power efficiency, and the mobile industry’s largest shared data cache.” Those are Qualcomm’s claims compared with the previous generation, not results from a Snapdragon 8 Elite versus Dimensity 9400e test. They should not be read as a direct performance or battery-life comparison between these two platforms.

Do benchmarks predict battery life or heat?
No universal battery-life or thermal winner is established by the cited benchmark comparison. A benchmark score captures a particular run, not how every handset behaves over hours of use. Battery capacity, display, software, cooling, firmware, performance mode, resolution, thermal limits, and the workload all affect the outcome.
To compare battery and heat, use controlled reviews of the actual phones, ideally with the same workload and comparable testing conditions. A peak score by itself cannot tell you how long a phone lasts or whether it will sustain performance without throttling.

How to choose between phones using these chips
Compare complete handsets rather than treating the processor as the whole purchase. Before choosing, check:
- Performance: Use the benchmark results as evidence of peak performance in the tested Realme phones; look for device-specific tests if comparing other models.
- Sustained gaming: Check long-session frame rates, frame-time consistency, cooling, and throttling for the phone and games you care about.
- Battery and heat: Compare reviews that test the actual models under similar conditions; the available benchmark results establish no universal winner here.
- Hardware and support: Check RAM and storage configuration, display, cameras and video capabilities, software update policy, and warranty.
- Compatibility: Confirm the exact regional version, network bands, carrier support, and availability—especially for an imported phone.
- Value: Compare the total phone price and the rest of its hardware. A less expensive model with a strong display, battery, camera system, cooling, and warranty may suit you better even if its peak benchmark scores are lower.
The Realme GT 7 Pro and Realme GT 7 are the devices used in the cited head-to-head results. Their scores are most relevant if those are the phones you are considering; when comparing other models, use reviews and configuration details for those exact devices.
Verdict
The Snapdragon 8 Elite led the available dated AnTuTu and Geekbench 6 comparison, but that evidence comes from two different Realme phones. Choose based on the specific handset’s sustained performance, battery, cooling, features, compatibility, support, and price—not the processor name or one benchmark table alone.
