miniStack STX 是什么，能装什么
miniStack STX 是一台桌面存储扩展设备，外形适合与 Mac mini 或 Mac Studio 搭配。它提供一个 SATA 驱动器位和一个 M.2 插槽，并将 Thunderbolt 端口扩展集中在同一机箱中。OWC 的产品页列明可安装一块 2.5 英寸或 3.5 英寸 SATA 6Gb/s HDD/SSD，以及一块 2280 NVMe M.2 SSD。
- SATA 位：适合以容量为优先的硬盘，或作为备份盘。
- NVMe 插槽：适合当前项目文件或需要比机械硬盘更快访问的资料。OWC 说明，使用 NVMe 需要通过 Thunderbolt 连接主机，并运行兼容的 macOS 11 或更新版本；具体驱动器容量和兼容性应在购买前核对官方指南。
驱动器需另行配置时，整套成本不只取决于机箱价格，也取决于 SATA 盘和 NVMe SSD 的容量。当前成交价、库存和可选容量组合未能由现有产品资料确定；OWC 2021 年发布稿所列的 299 美元起价是历史发布价格，不应当作现价（OWC，2021 年 11 月 18 日）。
端口与主机连接：Thunderbolt 和 USB 不能混为一谈
机身共有四个 Thunderbolt 4 端口：一个连接主机，另外三个作为下行端口。OWC 描述了多种菊链连接方式，但可连接的显示器数量、分辨率和刷新率仍取决于主机、显示器及连接拓扑，不能只凭 STX 的端口数量判断。使用前应对照具体 Mac、PC 或 iPad 的端口规格及 OWC 的兼容说明。

该设备也可连接 Thunderbolt 3、USB4 或 USB 主机，但可用功能随连接方式变化：
- Thunderbolt 主机：可使用 Thunderbolt 扩展功能；NVMe 也要求 Thunderbolt 主机连接。
- USB-C 主机：设备按 USB 集线器工作，速度受主机 USB 带宽限制。OWC 表示此连接方式只支持 SATA 驱动器，不支持 Thunderbolt 设备；额外功能也取决于主机端口能力。
- USB-A 主机：需另购 USB-C 转 USB-A 线缆；不支持显示输出和供电。
- Thunderbolt 2 主机：不支持直接主机连接。对旧 Thunderbolt 设备，OWC 要求指定的认证转接器及 Thunderbolt 2 线缆；这不等于 Thunderbolt 2 主机兼容。
因此，如果计划将 STX 接到 USB 主机，不能把它当作可经 USB 使用 NVMe 和 Thunderbolt 外设的替代方案。

实际速度：NVMe 是主要妥协
OWC 当前产品页给出的 NVMe 实际性能最高约为 770MB/s。StorageReview 在 2022 年对其评测配置测得 NVMe 顺序读取 845MB/s、顺序写入 724MB/s；同一评测所用的 10TB Seagate IronWolf SATA 硬盘则测得顺序读取 246MB/s、写入 206MB/s（StorageReview，2022）。这些是特定驱动器、接口和测试条件下的结果，并不保证其他组合会得到相同速度。
这意味着 STX 的 NVMe 插槽虽能容纳 NVMe SSD，整机仍会限制其表现；不能把 SSD 厂商标示的峰值速度直接当作 STX 中的速度。若工作流经常搬运大型素材，并且目标是接近 2,000–3,000MB/s 或更高的 NVMe 峰值，STX 不是合适的高速盘方案。照片整理、音频项目或压缩视频等工作流，如果更看重容量、桌面整合和 Thunderbolt 扩展，而非 NVMe 峰值，则更可能接受这一上限。

桌面使用体验与取舍
Macworld 的评测指出，STX 所有端口都位于机身背面，没有 SD 或 microSD 读卡器；其评测将 NVMe 性能限制与 PCIe 通道配置联系起来（Macworld）。背部布线有利于桌面走线整洁，但频繁插拔相机卡或临时设备会不如带前置端口的扩展坞方便，需要读卡的摄影用户还得另配读卡器。
OWC 当前产品页列出最高 96W 供电，而 2021 年发布稿列出的笔记本充电功率为 60W。两者是不同年代的厂商资料，存在规格差异；若供电能力对你的笔记本选择至关重要，应以当前产品页及对应型号说明为准，不要将旧发布稿数字视作当前值。

哪些人适合买，哪些人应选别的方案
- 适合买：希望在 Mac mini 或 Mac Studio 桌面下方集中安装 SATA 容量盘与 NVMe 项目盘，并需要额外 Thunderbolt 下行端口的人；也适合愿意以约 770MB/s 的厂商 NVMe 上限换取机箱整合度的照片、音频和压缩视频工作流。
- 不太适合：追求 NVMe 接近 2,000–3,000MB/s 或更高峰值的人；主要需求只是低价 USB 集线器、且不需要内部存储的人；需要前置读卡器的人；或打算通过 USB 主机使用 NVMe 和 Thunderbolt 设备的人。
- 一种实用配置思路：将 SATA 盘用于 Time Machine 或 Windows File History 一类备份，将 NVMe 用于当前项目；先确认主机以 Thunderbolt 连接且操作系统满足 NVMe 要求，再按实际容量预算挑选驱动器。
OWC 于 2021 年公布该产品。现有资料没有提供可用于判断整机故障率、总体可靠性或用户满意度的独立统计，也不能据此推断 2026 年售价、供货或固件状态。购买前应核实当地现价、保修与具体驱动器配置。
