Angular error NG0750 means the dependencies for an @defer block failed to load and the block has no @error block to show a failure state. Add that fallback first, then inspect the failed deferred JavaScript request and confirm the expected dependencies are actually eligible for deferral.
What NG0750 means
Angular’s diagnostic is “@defer dependencies failed to load.” It occurs when Angular cannot load the dependencies for a deferred block and no @error block is configured. Angular identifies poor network conditions as a typical cause, but the error alone does not establish the cause in a particular app. Angular’s NG0750 reference recommends configuring an error block.
An @error block handles failure to load the deferred dependencies. It does not handle later failures inside the component, such as an API request or other application logic failing after the component has loaded.
Add a fallback to the defer block
Place an optional @error block alongside the relevant @defer block. Keep its message useful and its dependencies simple: Angular loads dependencies used by the error block eagerly, and the fallback should not rely on the same deferred content that failed.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
@defer (on viewport) {
<heavy-panel />
} @placeholder {
<p>Scroll to load the panel.</p>
} @loading {
<p>Loading panel…</p>
} @error {
<p>The panel could not be loaded. Try again later.</p>
}
The example’s message is a fallback, not a built-in retry mechanism. If users need to retry, implement an application-controlled recovery action appropriate to the component and its loading flow.
Trace the failed deferred request
- Identify the affected block. Find the
@deferblock that renders the UI associated with the error and verify whether it has an@errorbranch. - Inspect browser network activity. Look for the deferred JavaScript request that failed, along with its response and timing. Angular cites poor network conditions as a typical reason, but other deployment- or request-specific problems may be involved; NG0750 does not diagnose which one occurred.
- Check the deployed application. Compare the failing request with the application’s build and deployment setup. Use the request details to investigate why that resource was not delivered or loaded rather than assuming the template is the only cause.
- Verify deferral eligibility. Angular defers eligible standalone components, directives, and pipes only when they are not referenced outside the
@deferblock in the same file. References such as aViewChildquery can prevent deferral. Non-standalone dependencies remain eager; transitive dependencies may still be NgModule-based. See the Angular deferred-loading guide.
Understand what Angular defers
Angular’s compiler creates dynamic imports for eligible components, directives, and pipes in a deferred block. The main block renders after those imports resolve. If a dependency does not meet the eligibility rules, it may be loaded eagerly instead of being split into a deferred import; that distinction matters when determining whether a failed request corresponds to the content you expected to defer.

Dependencies used in @placeholder, @loading, and @error blocks are eager. Keep these states lightweight so that a loading or failure message does not pull the deferred content into the initial load.
Review trigger and prefetch timing
By default, a defer block’s trigger is browser idle. The trigger determines when the main content begins loading, while a configured prefetch trigger can start making its resources available earlier. When diagnosing timing, check both: a prefetch may begin before the content trigger activates. The Angular guide documents the available triggers and their use.

Test the failure state
Angular’s TestBed defer-block APIs allow tests to control defer-block states manually. Use them to verify that the intended fallback appears when deferred loading fails, and that the normal content appears when loading succeeds. Keep tests for later data or API errors separate: those are application behavior after the deferred dependencies have loaded, not NG0750’s failure state.

With SSR or SSG, deferred content and its triggers behave differently from a browser-only render. By default, the server emits the placeholder or nothing, and the defer triggers activate on the client. Angular documents Incremental Hydration as a configurable option when the main deferred content should render on the server.
