The POCO F7 is the newer, larger-screened successor to the POCO F6, with a newer chipset, a higher-capacity battery in its global version, and an IP68 rating. The F6 may be the better fit if you prefer a smaller phone or find it at a meaningfully lower local price. Their listed camera hardware is broadly similar, so specifications alone do not show that the F7 takes better photos.

What is the difference between the POCO F6 and F7?
F7 has the newer chipset generation
The F6 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the F7 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. That makes the F7 the newer-generation choice on paper. POCO promotes the F7 as “Built for speed,” but vendor benchmark results are laboratory figures, not a guarantee of how every app or game will perform in everyday use.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
F7 has a larger, brighter-rated display
The F7’s 6.83-inch screen is larger than the F6’s 6.67-inch panel, and its advertised peak brightness is 3,200 nits versus 2,400 nits for the F6. Both are listed at 120 Hz. A larger display can be appealing for video and gaming, but it also makes the F7 physically larger; anyone who prioritizes one-handed use or pocketability may prefer the F6. Peak-brightness values are manufacturer specifications, and results depend on test conditions.
Battery capacity depends on which F7 you buy
For the global F7, POCO lists a 6,500 mAh typical, dual-cell battery and a 6,330 mAh rated capacity. The global F6 is listed at 5,000 mAh typical. These capacity figures do not establish screen-on time or how long either phone lasts under a particular workload.

The India F7 is a distinct regional specification: Xiaomi lists 7,550 mAh typical and 7,410 mAh rated, with a single-cell battery. Do not use that India capacity as the global F7 figure. Check the precise regional model before comparing battery claims.
Charging figures are not identical in every market
Both global models are listed with 90 W wired charging. Xiaomi says the F6 supports a 120 W charging mode, and the India F6 standard charger is 120 W; those India charger details should not be generalized to every F6. The F7 adds reverse wired charging rated up to 22.5 W. Actual charging power can depend on the adapter and cable, the phone’s charge state, and the surrounding environment.

F7 adds an IP68 rating; camera specifications are similar
POCO lists the F7 with a glass back, an aluminum alloy frame, and IP68 dust and water resistance. That rating is based on specific laboratory conditions, not a promise of protection in every exposure; Xiaomi warns that liquid damage may not be covered. The F6’s cited product specification identifies Gorilla Glass Victus for its display, but the comparison does not establish an equivalent IP rating for it.
On paper, both phones share a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 20 MP front camera. Matching headline specifications do not prove that photos look the same, and camera resolution alone does not establish image quality. The listed hardware does not support a claim that the F7 takes better photos.

Should you choose the POCO F6 or POCO F7?
- Choose the F7 if you want the newer chipset generation, a larger display, the global version’s larger stated battery capacity, or its IP68 rating—and its price in your market makes those differences worthwhile.
- Consider the F6 if you prefer a smaller screen or can buy it at a meaningful discount compared with an equivalent, in-stock F7 configuration.
- Do not choose based on camera claims alone: the listed rear-camera hardware is similar, and specifications do not establish which phone produces better photos.
- Verify the regional model: battery capacity and charger details differ between some regional versions, particularly for the India F7 and F6.
These are specification-based decision points, not conclusions from hands-on testing or a controlled battery-life comparison.
