If clicks work while the camera is at (0, 0) but stop registering after it moves, the likely problem is a coordinate-space mismatch: the pointer is measured in screen space while hit testing compares it with a component’s world-space position. Convert the pointer into the same space as the component before checking whether they overlap.

Why camera movement can break clicks

Limn Engine’s beginner documentation describes display.x and display.y as the pointer coordinates while a mouse button or finger is pressed; both become false on release. Its clicked() check tests whether those coordinates fall inside a component’s bounding box and is described as accounting for component rotation. The documented usage pattern is if (display.x && btn.clicked()). The canvas origin is its top-left, with x increasing to the right and y increasing downward. Limn Engine beginner documentation

The camera changes the relationship between rendered positions and pointer positions. Limn’s intermediate guide describes drawing with a context translation of -camera.x and -camera.y. That shifts world content across the viewport, but a pointer event still identifies a position on the screen. When the camera is at the origin, those numbers may appear to match; after the camera moves, comparing them directly can miss the component. Limn Engine intermediate camera guide

Apply the reported camera-offset correction

The available account of the Limn click bug reports adding the camera’s x and y offsets when storing pointer coordinates. This maps the screen position back toward world space for a camera that applies a translation:

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
window.addEventListener('mousedown', (e) => {
    this.x = e.pageX + this.camera.x;
    this.y = e.pageY + this.camera.y;
});

The reported example uses pageX and pageY, then adds the camera offsets. Treat it as the correction reported for that case, not as a verified, universal Limn patch: the available account does not establish the engine version or whether the example handles canvas placement, CSS scaling, device-pixel ratio, or zoom. Web Pulse summary of the reported click-coordinate fix

Check the full coordinate pipeline

If adding the camera offset does not fix the issue, trace each transform from the browser event to the component’s hit test. The pointer and component must end up expressed in the same coordinate space. For a canvas that is offset or scaled, first convert the event position to canvas-local coordinates, then apply the inverse camera and zoom transforms that correspond to the engine’s rendering pipeline. This is general implementation guidance; the reported Limn correction establishes only camera-offset addition.

  • 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
  • Page to canvas: Account for the canvas element’s position in the page instead of assuming page coordinates begin at the canvas origin.
  • CSS size to canvas coordinates: If CSS dimensions differ from the canvas backing-store dimensions, scale the local pointer coordinates accordingly.
  • Camera translation: For the documented render translation by negative camera offsets, map viewport coordinates back to world coordinates by accounting for those offsets.
  • Zoom or other transforms: Apply the inverse of any zoom or additional transform used during rendering. Confirm the order from the actual render pipeline rather than assuming one.

Verify the fix against the hit test

  1. Keep the camera still. Check whether a click registers when the camera is at the origin; this establishes the baseline described in the reported bug.
  2. Move the camera. Test the same component after the camera follows or shifts the view. A failure that appears only after movement points toward mismatched spaces.
  3. Inspect the coordinates passed to hit testing. Compare the pointer coordinates with the component’s bounding box in the space the hit test expects. Limn documents clicked() as the bounds check; do not change its rotation handling without evidence that rotation is the issue.
  4. Account for every transform. Convert page coordinates to canvas-local coordinates if needed, then apply the inverse rendering transforms so the pointer and component positions can be compared directly.

The reported case establishes that camera movement exposed the mismatch and that adding camera offsets was the proposed correction; it does not establish a complete regression-test matrix or handling for scaled canvases and zoom. Web Pulse summary Limn Engine camera guide
