Mitiga is positioned as a cloud-native security platform for SecOps teams: it is intended to help organizations detect and investigate threats across cloud and SaaS environments, then support incident response. Network World’s August 1, 2024 feature described coverage spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, with investigation timelines assembled from logs and queries. Those are product capabilities as described in the article, not independently verified performance results.
What Mitiga is designed to do
The platform’s central proposition is to bring cloud threat detection and incident response into a workflow built for environments spread across multiple services. Instead of treating each cloud or SaaS log source as an isolated alert stream, the feature described Mitiga as adding context to detections and assembling investigation timelines from disparate logs and queries.
That workflow is aimed at SecOps teams investigating activity across an organization’s cloud footprint. In its product portfolio, Mitiga’s official news page lists its platform, Helios AI, a cloud security data lake, cloud threat detection and investigation capabilities, incident-response readiness, cloud detection and response, investigation automation, and managed services. The managed-service categories include cloud detection and response, threat hunting, and cloud/SaaS incident response.
What environments and workflow the coverage describes
- Environment scope: The 2024 feature describes coverage across infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).
- Detection: It describes contextual threat detections rather than alerts detached from surrounding activity.
- Investigation: It says the platform can automatically assemble timelines using information from different logs and queries.
- Response: The company’s listed offerings include cloud detection and response and managed incident-response services.
These descriptions do not establish which specific cloud providers, SaaS applications, data sources, or integrations are supported, or how the product is deployed. Buyers should confirm those details directly with Mitiga for their own environment.

Why cloud and SaaS security is a distinct problem
Cloud environments can distribute data and activity across services that are operated, configured, and logged in different ways. SaaS applications add another layer of identity, email, data, and code activity outside a conventional on-premises perimeter. The interview description reproduced on Mitiga’s official news page points to organizational concerns involving authentication, email, data, code, and gaps in security-team investigation across cloud and SaaS applications.
Network World’s 2024 feature cited IBM’s 2024 Cost of a Data Breach Report for two figures: about 40% of breaches involved data distributed across multiple environments, and breaches involving only public clouds had an average cost of $5.17 million. The article also reported IDC’s forecast of $805 billion in worldwide public-cloud services spending for 2024, with spending poised to double between 2024 and 2028. These are dated figures attributed to IBM and IDC through Network World, not current measurements or independent validation here.

What is known about Mitiga—and what is not
Network World’s August 2024 company snapshot said Mitiga was founded in 2019, headquartered in New York, and led by CEO Tal Mozes at the time. It reported $45 million in total funding and named Lemonade as a customer example. Those details describe the company as reported in 2024 and should not be read as confirmation of its present leadership, financing, location, or customer roster.
The feature named Cado Security, Permiso, and Wiz, through its acquisition of Gem Security, as competitors. It did not provide a head-to-head comparison, and the names are not an exhaustive or necessarily current market map. The available descriptions also do not establish Mitiga’s current pricing, supported integrations, deployment requirements, or comparative product performance. The company’s official page invites prospective customers to request a demo but does not provide those details in the material reviewed.

Questions to resolve before evaluating the platform
- Which IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services are supported, and are the specific services in your estate covered?
- Which logs, identity signals, and other data sources are required, and how are they connected?
- How are detections contextualized, and what information appears in an automatically assembled investigation timeline?
- Which investigation and response actions are automated, and which require analyst approval?
- Are managed detection, threat hunting, or incident-response services available for your needs, and what do they include?
- What deployment model, retention terms, data access, and commercial pricing apply to your organization?
Those questions matter because broad cloud-and-SaaS positioning alone does not show whether a platform can cover a particular company’s applications, workflows, or response requirements.
