To use Vysor wirelessly with an Android phone, first connect and pair it with your computer over USB, then enable Vysor’s wireless connection and unplug the cable after the wireless session is active. You’ll need USB Debugging, a data-capable cable for initial pairing, and—according to Vysor’s surfaced guidance—a Pro plan for wireless mode.
What you need before connecting
- An Android phone with USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options. Vysor’s setup guidance lists this as a prerequisite for detecting an Android device: Vysor.
- A USB cable that carries data, not just power. The Vysor web app calls for a data cable for pairing: Vysor web app.
- Access to Vysor wireless mode. Pages surfaced under Vysor branding describe wireless as a Pro feature; check the plan details shown in the app because terms can change: Vysor download page.
- Your phone and computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network, as recommended in Vysor’s troubleshooting guidance: Vysor troubleshooting guidance.
Connect Vysor over Wi-Fi
- Enable USB Debugging. On Android, open Developer Options and turn on USB Debugging. The exact menu path can differ by Android version and phone manufacturer.
- Connect the phone to the computer by USB. Use a data-capable cable. If Android displays a prompt asking whether to allow USB debugging from this computer, approve it.
- Open Vysor and select the detected phone. Wait for the device to appear in Vysor. If it does not, check the USB debugging authorization and cable before trying wireless.
- Start wireless mode for that device. Use the wireless or Wi-Fi control associated with the device in Vysor. A 2016 demonstration by Vysor creator Koushik Dutta shows a Wi-Fi icon beside the device list, but the current interface may look different: Koushik Dutta’s demonstration.
- Wait for the wireless session to open, then unplug the cable. Confirm the Vysor window remains connected without USB before removing the cable. The demonstration describes disconnecting the cable once the window opens.
Fix common connection problems
Vysor does not detect the phone over USB
- Confirm USB Debugging is enabled in Developer Options.
- Use a cable that supports data transfer. A charge-only cable cannot carry the data needed for initial pairing.
- Reconnect the phone and approve any USB Debugging authorization prompt on its screen.
The phone connects by USB but wireless mode fails
- Put the phone and computer on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check whether a firewall is blocking Vysor, then retry the wireless connection.
- If needed, reconnect by USB and repeat the wired-first pairing process before enabling wireless again.
The wireless control is not where expected
Vysor’s Wi-Fi-icon workflow is shown in a 2016 demonstration, so its current control or label may differ. Look for a wireless or Wi-Fi option associated with the detected device rather than relying on a particular screen layout.

Wireless versus USB
