A small JSON schema can make text-to-3D prompts easier to save, review, and adapt by keeping the creative brief together with the generation settings you actually used. It cannot guarantee that a service will produce identical geometry or textures on another run. Treat the schema below as a portable record of intent, then translate provider-specific options through an adapter that checks what the selected API supports.
What the schema is—and what it is not
This is a compact wrapper for recording a 3D asset request, not a universal standard or a format that generation services are required to accept. Its purpose is to separate three things that are easy to mix together:
- Creative intent: what the asset should depict and how it should look.
- Generation settings: which provider and model were used, plus supported controls such as seeds or texture options.
- Output format: the file format requested or produced.
That separation helps you reuse the same asset brief when moving between tools without assuming that every tool accepts the same controls. Provider interfaces vary: Tripo documents prompt, model/version and geometry or texture controls; a hosted Tripo endpoint exposes additional options including negative prompts and seeds; Sloyd documents separate text and image generation endpoints. See the Tripo developer documentation, fal Tripo P2 API documentation, and Sloyd API documentation.

Keep the asset brief portable
The asset object holds the description you want to preserve across tools: subject, shape or identifying details, materials, style, view or pose, and things to avoid. Write it in ordinary language. These fields are part of this proposed wrapper; they are not claims about the parameter names accepted by any particular service.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Record only settings the chosen provider supports
The generation object captures implementation details. Fill in the provider and model or version, and record a seed or options such as texture, PBR, and face limit only when the selected API documents and accepts them. A provider adapter should validate these fields and translate them into that provider’s request format. It should reject, omit, or deliberately map unsupported keys rather than sending them blindly.
Field names and limits are API-specific. For example, Tripo’s documented controls and the controls exposed by the hosted fal endpoint are not evidence that another generator accepts the same settings. The Tripo text-to-model documentation and fal endpoint schema show why the adapter boundary matters.

Keep file format separate from prompt input
The output.format value describes the asset file, not the natural-language prompt. Khronos explains that GLB can store JSON and binary data together in one file: “Alternatively, an asset could use the GLB container to store JSON and binary data in one file without base64 encoding.” That is a property of the glTF asset format, not a prompt-schema convention. See the Khronos glTF 2.0 Specification.
How this makes prompts more repeatable
A structured record makes it easier to recover what you asked for and which documented settings accompanied the request. You can review differences between prompt versions, reuse the portable brief, and adapt it for another provider while keeping a record of the original implementation choices.

A seed can support repeatability where a provider exposes it, and recording the model or version and other settings makes a request more traceable. But the wrapper does not control the generator. It cannot promise identical geometry or textures across runs, model versions, or vendors. The documentation cited here lists controls; it does not establish a universal deterministic-output guarantee or quantify how much this proposed schema improves repeatability.
Using the wrapper with a generation API
- Write the asset brief first. Describe one asset clearly in
subjectanddescription; add materials, style, pose or view, and exclusions as useful. - Select a provider and model. Record the exact provider and model or version in
generationwhen known. - Check the provider’s request contract. Confirm accepted prompt fields, seeds, geometry limits, texture controls, and other options in the provider’s current documentation. Do not infer support from this example schema.
- Map and validate settings in an adapter. Translate the portable brief and supported options into the API’s expected names and types. Omit or reject unsupported options rather than passing them through.
- Record the resulting file format. Set
output.formatto the format requested or returned by the workflow; do not treat it as a prompt-generation setting.
For instance, Meshy’s documentation lists GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ, and 3MF among its supported formats. That list is specific to the documented Meshy workflow, not a promise that another API exports the same files. See Meshy’s Text to 3D API documentation.

JSON details that help preserve the record
- Use unique property names. Khronos’s glTF specification recommends unique property names in JSON objects.
- Keep values typed correctly: a seed or face limit should remain numeric when supplied as a number, booleans should remain booleans, and an unknown numeric value can be represented as
nullrather than a guessed value. - Keep provider-specific additions clearly namespaced or in an optional extension object, and version your wrapper if its structure changes.
The JSON handling guidance above is relevant to data quality; glTF itself does not define this prompt wrapper.
What to check before adopting a provider
- Prompt contract: accepted prompt length, negative-prompt support, and whether the endpoint is intended to describe one asset or a broader scene.
- Repeatability controls: whether model/version and geometry, image, or texture seeds are exposed, and whether documentation makes a deterministic-output promise.
- Geometry and texture options: face limits, topology or geometry controls, texture enablement, PBR settings, and quality levels.
- Output and workflow: downloadable formats and how the generated model fits the intended workflow.
- Portability: which core brief fields map cleanly and which settings need provider-specific handling.
API field lists alone do not establish which service produces better models, runs faster, or costs less; those comparisons require separate evidence.
