Uninstall Garmin Express on Windows
Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Find Garmin Express and select the three-dot menu beside it.
- Choose Uninstall, then choose Uninstall again to confirm.
Windows 10
- Open Start > Settings > Apps. Depending on your Windows version, the page may be labeled Apps & features.
- Select Garmin Express and choose Uninstall.

Uninstall Garmin Express and its files on Mac
Garmin’s Mac instructions remove the app and named support files from your user Library. Garmin warns: “This process may delete the backups from Garmin Express.” If you need those backups, check your backup or export options before continuing. This warning concerns Garmin Express backups; it does not establish that the steps remove all Garmin device data or Garmin Connect data.
- Quit Garmin Express from its menu-bar icon. If prompted about keeping it running in the background, confirm that you want to quit.
- In Finder, open Applications and drag Garmin Express to the Trash. Provide an administrator name and password if requested.
- In Finder, open the Go menu and hold Option to show Library. Open
~/Library/Preferencesand move files beginningcom.garmin.renuto the Trash. - Open
~/Library/Application Support/Garminand move theExpressfolder to the Trash. - Open
~/Library/Caches. If present, move these items to the Trash:com.garmin.renu.client,com.garmin.renu.service.crashreporter, andcom.garmin.renu.service. - Empty the Trash. If it will not empty, Garmin advises restarting the Mac and trying again.

If the Windows uninstall fails
Garmin’s troubleshooting advice is specific: if Windows says a reboot is needed or the uninstall does not work, check for the processes Garmin names, restart, and retry. Do not end unrelated processes.
- Open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
- If present, end Windows Update Service and Microsoft Service Process.
- Restart the computer and try uninstalling Garmin Express again using the Windows steps above.
Garmin also links to Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter for compatible computers. The support article does not establish that the tool works with every Windows configuration. If Garmin Express still will not uninstall, Garmin lists trying another computer or consulting a Microsoft Certified Repair Technician as further options.

If you meant removing a device from Garmin Express
Uninstalling Garmin Express removes the computer application. To leave the application installed but remove a device from it, right-click the device and select Remove From Express, or select the device and go to Tools & Content > Utilities > Remove Device. - Windows: Try Garmin Express on another computer, use Microsoft’s troubleshooter if your computer is compatible, or consult a Microsoft Certified Repair Technician if you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting.
- Mac: Garmin lists an Apple Authorized Service Provider as an escalation option.
