Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYes. A batch request changes how operations are sent and processed; it does not grant the caller access to every object named in the request. The server must authorize each item for the authenticated subject, intended action, resource, and relevant trusted context. A permit for one item must never authorize another.
Authentication is not object authorization
Authentication establishes who is calling. Object-level authorization determines whether that caller may perform a particular action on a particular resource. Possessing a valid session or token—or knowing an object ID—does not establish permission to read or change that object. OWASP cautions that comparing the session user’s ID with a submitted object ID is not a sufficient general defense against broken object-level authorization (BOLA). See the OWASP Authorization Cheat Sheet.
Keep separate checks for separate questions: function-level permission can determine whether a caller may invoke an endpoint at all; object-level permission determines which specific objects they may access. If some fields on an otherwise accessible object have additional restrictions, enforce field-level rules too.
Make a distinct decision for every item
For every requested item, evaluate whether the authenticated subject may perform the requested action on that resource, considering relevant trusted context such as tenant. Build decisions from server-trusted identity and request context, not roles or permissions asserted by the client.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use the batch contract’s documented ordering or validated item identifiers to associate each decision with its input. Do not infer an association from an unreliable response order, and never let one item’s permit spill over to another. OWASP states: “Do not apply one item’s permit to the entire batch.” See the OWASP Authorization Decisions and Output Handling Cheat Sheet.
- Accept only decision records that meet the endpoint’s documented contract.
- Reject or deny affected items when a result is missing, malformed, duplicated, unexpected, or cannot be reliably matched to its input.
- Treat a decision-service error or other unresolved result as a denial for the affected item; do not release its data or perform its action.
Choose a collection strategy that preserves the policy
The right method depends on the candidate set, datastore integration, completeness guarantees, and failure semantics. OWASP describes checking each candidate and using authorized-resource IDs or query filters when those methods preserve the intended policy. Product labels alone do not establish that a method is safe.

| Approach | When it fits | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Bounded per-item checks | A small, bounded candidate set that the trusted service can retrieve and evaluate item by item, or through a batch decision interface. | Each decision maps to exactly one item; only valid permits lead to a read or mutation. |
| Authorized-resource IDs | A documented integration can provide the resources the subject is authorized to access. | Whether results are capped or paginated, whether the authorized set is complete, and whether the application can detect incompleteness. An incomplete result cannot justify removing restrictions. |
| Query filter | The datastore or authorization integration can filter candidates while preserving the same subject, action, resource, and context policy as an individual check. | Filter semantics, pagination and caps, completeness, failure behavior, and consistency with the policy used elsewhere. |
For any approach, consider candidate-set size and cost, what happens when a decision is unresolved, whether indirect outputs expose protected information, and whether access can change between authorization and a later read or mutation. Recheck authorization when a subsequent operation or state change could alter access.
Protect lists, searches, exports, counts, and nested routes
Authorization must cover every path that can disclose protected information, not just a direct read by object ID. Apply the relevant policy to list and search results, export rows, counts, aggregates, and nested object routes. A protected detail endpoint does not prevent an unfiltered collection endpoint from leaking the same data.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Nested routes need particular care: a check on a parent resource does not automatically prove access to every child, or vice versa. Verify the relationship and the requested action against the policy for the actual target resource.
Define batch failure and response behavior
Document whether the operation is atomic—all items succeed or the operation fails—or allows partial success, where permitted items may proceed while denied items do not. State how per-item denials appear in the response and whether the API conceals a resource’s existence. OWASP requires enforcing each item’s authorization result but does not prescribe one universal all-or-nothing response policy.

Whichever contract you choose, do not expose denied object data through response bodies, counts, error details, or other outputs. Ensure the behavior for missing or invalid decisions and authorization-service errors is explicit and consistent with that contract.

Exercise both individual requests and batches containing varied outcomes:
- All items permitted and all items denied.
- A mixed batch with both permitted and denied items.
- A missing or malformed decision, and duplicate, unexpected, or misordered decision records.
- A downstream authorization-decision service error.
For every case, verify that no denied item’s data is returned and no denied action takes effect. Check that the response follows the documented atomicity, partial-success, and existence-concealment behavior.
