The total is not a Texas-only count: Maine’s Attorney General record lists 54 affected Maine residents, while the Texas Attorney General’s listing is the source for the Texas-resident count.
Was your information exposed in the Gulshan breach?
The reported total is 377,082 people, according to the Maine Attorney General’s notice record. That figure does not establish that every recipient had the same information exposed. The company notice says an unauthorized third party may have accessed personal information; it does not say that every listed data type applied to every person.
Gulshan’s notice, reproduced by the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, states: “We are writing to tell you about a data security incident that Gulshan Management Services, Inc. (“GMS”) has experienced that may have involved some personal information about you.” If you received a letter or other notification, use it to confirm whether Gulshan identified you as affected and which steps apply to you.

These are categories the notice says may have been involved, not confirmation that every person’s full set of details was accessed. The reviewed records do not establish whether anyone misused the information.

SecurityWeek reported that the attacker had access for 10 days, stole personal data, and deployed ransomware that encrypted files. Those details are the outlet’s account of the filing; they are not established here as an independent forensic finding. The reviewed sources do not establish whether a ransom was paid or whether a final forensic report was published.

What should you do if you got a Gulshan breach letter?
- Read the notice carefully. Follow its specific eligibility and enrollment directions. The Maine Attorney General record says Gulshan offered notified individuals 12 months of Kroll Identity Monitoring Services, including credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration. Check your own notice for the applicable enrollment instructions and deadline.
- Review account activity. Check financial accounts for unfamiliar transactions and contact the institution using a trusted number if anything looks wrong. If your notice identifies a specific exposed account, prioritize that account.
- Consider a credit freeze if you are concerned about identity fraud. A freeze can restrict access to your credit file when creditors review applications. Contact each nationwide credit bureau directly to place or lift a freeze; monitoring and a freeze are different tools.
- Be alert for targeted scams. Treat unexpected calls, texts, or emails about the breach with caution. Do not share passwords, verification codes, or financial details in response to an unsolicited message.
- Keep records and report suspected identity theft. Save the breach notice and relevant account statements. If you find signs of identity theft, contact the affected financial institution and use the appropriate government identity-theft reporting resources.
Who is Gulshan Management Services?
The Maine Attorney General record names Gulshan Management Services, Inc. and lists its address in Sugar Land, Texas. SecurityWeek describes the company as associated with roughly 150 Handi Plus and Handi Stop gas stations and convenience stores in Texas. That approximate business context is attributed to SecurityWeek, not to the regulator’s count of affected people.

The Texas Attorney General’s data-breach reporting guidance says a breach affecting at least 250 Texans must be reported to the OAG as soon as practicable and no later than 30 days after discovery; affected consumers also must be notified. Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 521 says consumer notice is due without unreasonable delay and generally within 60 days after determining a breach occurred, subject to statutory exceptions, including law-enforcement delay. The statute permits alternative notice methods only when specified conditions are met.
