For example:
const Greeting = () => <h1>Hello</h1>;
function App() {
return <Greeting />;
}
Define and render an arrow-function component
A function component is a JavaScript function that returns the UI React should display. An arrow function is one way to write that function. Use the component in JSX so React can manage its rendering; do not call it directly as Greeting(). See React’s guidance on how React calls components and Hooks.
Component names begin with a capital letter, which distinguishes them from built-in lowercase HTML elements such as div and button.
Return JSX with or without an explicit return
When the component returns one expression, parentheses are optional, and an implicit return keeps the definition concise:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
const Greeting = () => <h1>Hello</h1>;
Use braces and return when the function body needs multiple statements:
const Greeting = () => {
const message = 'Hello';
return <h1>{message}</h1>;
};
Pass props into the component
React passes props to a function component as its argument. Destructure the values you need, then use them in JSX:

const Greeting = ({ name }) => {
return <h1>Hello, {name}</h1>;
};
function App() {
return <Greeting name="Mina" />;
}
In this example, name="Mina" supplies the name prop, and {name} inserts its value into the heading.
Use Hooks at the top level
An arrow-function component can use Hooks, such as useState, in its function body. Call Hooks at the top level of a function component or custom Hook, before any early return. Do not put them inside conditions, loops, nested functions, or event handlers. React explains these requirements in its Rules of Hooks.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

import { useState } from 'react';
const Counter = () => {
const [count, setCount] = useState(0);
return (
<button onClick={() => setCount(count + 1)}>
{count}
</button>
);
};
Here, useState runs at the top level of Counter, and the button’s click handler updates the state. The component then renders the current count.
Pass event handlers instead of calling them during render
An arrow function can define the component, and another arrow function can serve as an event handler. These are separate uses of arrow syntax. An event prop such as onClick should receive a function to run later. Writing onClick={handleSave()} calls the function immediately while rendering, rather than waiting for a click. React shows this distinction in its guide to responding to events.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Use a named handler for reusable or longer logic
function SaveButton() {
const handleSave = () => {
saveDocument();
};
return <button onClick={handleSave}>Save</button>;
}
Passing handleSave gives React the function; it does not run the function during render.
Use an inline arrow for a short one-off action
<button onClick={() => setCount(count + 1)}>Add one</button>
Inline handlers are convenient for brief behavior. A named handler can make longer logic clearer and can be reused.

Arrow functions are optional; function declarations also work
A component can also be written as a function declaration:
function Greeting() {
return <h1>Hello</h1>;
}
Both forms define a function component that can be rendered with JSX. React does not require arrow syntax, and the official guidance does not establish that arrow components are inherently faster or universally preferable. React’s Component reference says, “We recommend defining components as functions instead of classes. See how to migrate.” That is a recommendation, not a requirement; class components remain supported.
Keep rendering pure
A component’s render should calculate UI from its inputs rather than perform side effects. Treat props and state as immutable snapshots: do not modify them directly. React’s guidance on component and Hook purity explains these expectations.
