Is Open-LIMS ready for production?
A third-party overview published in 2023 calls Open-LIMS experimental software and says it is not ready for a production environment. That is a dated characterization, not a current assessment. The available project information does not establish present maintenance activity, security posture, supported deployment, or suitability for regulated laboratory operations.
Before relying on it for laboratory work, evaluate whether the project is actively maintained, whether a supported installation path exists, whether its workflows fit your laboratory, and whether the required security and validation controls have been demonstrated. The sources cited here do not establish answers to those checks.

What license does Open-LIMS use?
The GitHub repository lists a GPL-3.0 license. Consult the license text in the repository to determine the terms that apply to your intended use.
