Those device-tested results do not establish a universal winner: they are not documented as a controlled comparison of equivalent phones, and the handset’s cooling, software and workload also matter.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 vs Apple A18: key specifications
These chips belong to different smartphone ecosystems. Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 as a mobile platform; 91mobiles identifies Apple A18 as a six-core processor used in devices including iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
| Specification | Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 | Apple A18 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU information | Kryo CPU, up to 3 GHz, according to Qualcomm | Six cores: two at 4.05 GHz and four at 2.42 GHz, according to 91mobiles |
| Process node | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm | 3 nm, according to 91mobiles |
| Graphics | Adreno GPU; Qualcomm does not specify a model in the cited product information | not stated (91mobiles’ cited A18 specifications) |
| Other platform features | Qualcomm lists an X70 5G modem, Qualcomm AI Engine, FastConnect 7800 and Wi-Fi 7 support | not stated (91mobiles’ cited A18 specifications) |
| Example host phones | not stated on the cited Qualcomm product page | iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, according to 91mobiles |
Specifications are from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 product page and 91mobiles’ Apple A18 specifications page. The A18 figures here are attributed to 91mobiles; an Apple primary specification source was not established for this comparison. Clock speed, core count and process-node labels alone do not determine performance across every task or phone.

Scores and test attribution: 91mobiles’ Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 benchmark report and its Apple A18 benchmark and specifications report. The reported ordering is mixed: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is higher in AnTuTu, while A18 is higher in both Geekbench results shown here. Scores from different benchmark apps are not directly interchangeable, and the available reporting does not establish identical devices, software, cooling or test conditions.
Which processor is faster?
There is no single answer supported across all workloads by these figures. For the specific 91mobiles results above, Apple A18 has the higher Geekbench single-core and multi-core scores, while Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 has the higher AnTuTu total. This is a comparison of reported device tests, not a controlled chip-only verdict or a promise about day-to-day speed.

Single-core and multi-core tests measure different kinds of CPU work, and AnTuTu produces a separate overall score. A lead in one result does not automatically predict gaming performance, battery life or sustained speed. The cited score reports do not provide a controlled, matched gaming test or a comparison of performance over extended workloads.
