Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou can use four weeks to build a useful Python foundation and finish a small project—not to master the language or become job-ready. Choose one main learning resource, write code regularly, and follow a sequence from basic syntax to functions, files, and a finished script. If you have never programmed, start with a beginner-oriented course; Python’s official tutorial assumes you already know basic programming.
Choose a starting point that fits your experience
The best way to learn Python from scratch depends on whether “from scratch” means new to Python or new to programming. Python’s official tutorial says it is “designed for programmers that are new to the Python language, not beginners who are new to programming” (The Python Tutorial, Python 3.14.8 documentation).
- If this is your first programming language: use a course or tutorial intended for non-programmers. Python’s Beginner’s Guide for Non-Programmers points newcomers toward suitable resources. Harvard’s CS50’s Introduction to Programming with Python (CS50P) is another structured option; Harvard describes it as designed for students with or without prior programming experience.
- If you already know another language: the official Python tutorial is a concise way to learn Python’s syntax and core features. It is not comprehensive, so use the Python documentation as a reference when you need more detail.
Pick one main course or tutorial and stick with it for the month. The official documentation is useful alongside it, but collecting resources is not a substitute for writing programs.
Set up a way to run Python
You do not need to buy a particular computer, editor, or IDE to begin. CS50P says a browser is enough for its course unless you choose to write code on your own computer. If you do want to work locally, the Python Beginner’s Guide notes that IDLE is bundled with Python; Python.org also notes that many Linux and UNIX distributions include a recent Python installation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use the setup option that lets you start practicing with the least friction. Once you can run a short program, begin the roadmap rather than delaying to perfect your tools.
A four-week Python learning roadmap
This is a suggested schedule, not an official four-week syllabus for any course. CS50P’s published material spans ten weeks; use this plan to select essentials at an accelerated pace, and take longer where needed rather than skipping fundamentals.

Week 1: Write simple programs and control their flow
- Run Python code and become comfortable with the interpreter or your chosen coding environment.
- Practice expressions, variables, common data types, and input and output.
- Use
ifstatements to make decisions and loops to repeat work. - Change examples and predict what they will do before running them.
By the end of the week, aim to make a short program that accepts input, makes a decision, and prints a result.
Week 2: Use functions and learn from errors
- Break a program into functions that each handle a small task.
- Pass information to functions with arguments and send results back with return values.
- Read error messages carefully and learn the basics of exceptions and error handling.
- Debug by changing a small example, running it, and checking what changed.
Practice modifying code rather than only watching lessons. Errors are part of the process: learning to investigate them is a core skill, not a sign that you should restart.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Week 3: Work with libraries, tests, and files
- Use libraries to build on Python’s existing tools instead of trying to implement everything yourself.
- Write simple tests to check whether a function produces the result you expect.
- Read from and write to files.
- Choose a modest project that solves a real task, and begin with the smallest useful version.
For example, a personal script might organize information you keep in a text file or summarize entries from a file. Keep the task small enough to finish and explain.
Week 4: Extend the project and finish it
- Learn the basics of regular expressions and introductory object-oriented programming if your course covers them.
- Improve your project in small steps: add one useful feature, test it, then move to the next.
- Make sure the project runs, handles ordinary mistakes sensibly, and includes a brief explanation of what it does.
- Write down the next concept you need to learn based on a real obstacle you encountered.
CS50P includes regular expressions, object-oriented programming, and a final project in its ten-week course. Treat those topics as an introduction in this compressed schedule, not proof that you have mastered them.

Choose learning materials without overloading your schedule
| Resource | Best fit | Format and practice | Time and cost context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harvard CS50P | New programmers and learners who already have experience | Structured course with lectures, problem sets, hands-on exercises, and a final project | Harvard’s published course plan is ten weeks. It is available free as OpenCourseWare; optional verified-certificate enrollment is separate. |
| The Python Tutorial | People who already know basic programming | Official tutorial covering Python’s syntax and core features | Free documentation; it explicitly does not target people new to programming. |
| Python Beginner’s Guide for Non-Programmers | People who have never programmed | Guide that points newcomers toward beginner-suitable resources | Free online guide; it directs learners to external options rather than serving as a single course. |
| Python Crash Course | Learners who prefer a book and project-oriented material | A third-party learning-path guide describes the book’s second half as three projects | Optional book; the cited guide does not establish current price or availability. |
For a guided course, CS50P combines instruction with exercises rather than asking you to learn from reference pages alone. The four-week schedule is your own accelerated plan, however—not the course’s published completion timeline. If you prefer reading, a book such as Python Crash Course can be an optional companion, not a prerequisite.

Use a repeatable study loop: learn one idea, type and run an example, change it, then apply it to an exercise or your project. CS50P recommends a workflow built around lectures, problem sets, and a final project. Python.org identifies its online documentation as the first port of call for definitive information, including the tutorial and library reference.

What you can reasonably expect after four weeks
A productive four-week sprint can leave you able to write and run short scripts, use basic control flow and functions, investigate errors, work with files, and identify what to study next. Those are practical goals, not a guaranteed proficiency standard. CS50P’s ten-week structure is a useful reminder that a four-week roadmap compresses an introduction rather than replacing sustained learning.
When the month ends, continue from the gaps your project exposed. Revisit fundamentals that still feel uncertain, then work through more exercises and larger projects. A solid foundation is a useful result; there is no need to claim mastery to make progress.
