They suit different kitchens rather than representing a universal ranking: other publishers choose different top models. The recommendations below are attributed to RTINGS, whose page was updated September 22, 2026 and says it tested over 20 immersion blenders.

What each pick does best
Vitamix 2-Speed Immersion: smooth soups and sauces
RTINGS found that the Vitamix produces smooth results with fibrous ingredients such as kale and broccoli, and describes it as relatively quiet for an immersion blender. Its simple package has few attachments, and RTINGS says the mostly plastic build feels less sturdy than Vitamix full-size blenders. The key limitation is thick food: RTINGS warns that the motor base can overheat on thick recipes. It is a better fit for liquid-based soups and sauces than dense mixtures.

The cordless KitchenAid gives you room to work without managing a power cord. RTINGS says it has less power and speed than the Vitamix, but can produce similar results if you give it more time. The package includes a beaker with a storage lid and a pan guard. KitchenAid advertises up to 30 minutes of battery life; that is the manufacturer’s stated maximum, not an independently guaranteed runtime. Thicker mixtures and harder ingredients use the battery faster. The battery is removable and compatible with other KitchenAid Go products.

Cuisinart Smart Stick Two-Speed: straightforward blending
RTINGS describes the Cuisinart as lightweight and suitable for basic blending and smaller batches. It includes a 24-ounce beaker. It is loud, works more slowly on fibrous ingredients, and is particularly unsuitable for thick recipes because the motor base may overheat. Choose another tool for hummus, nut butter, or similarly dense blends.
Breville Control Grip: a useful attachment bundle
The Breville is RTINGS’ versatile pick, with a whisk, blending jug, food-processing bowl and blade, long arm, and 15 speed settings. That range is useful if you expect to use those accessories, but the blender is heavier and louder than some alternatives. RTINGS also found that it can leave fibrous ingredients grainier, particularly in larger batches.

How to compare immersion blenders for your kitchen
Start with the food and batch size
Match the tool to what you actually blend. For soups and sauces, look for the texture it produces on fibrous ingredients and whether its arm reaches comfortably into your cookware. For a single serving, a beaker may be enough. RTINGS says immersion blenders are less suitable than full-size blenders for large smoothie batches, thick recipes such as hummus and nut butter, and crushing ice.

Decide whether cordless operation is worth charging
A cordless blender can be easier to move around the kitchen, but its working time depends on the mixture and ingredients. If you prefer not to monitor a battery or want sustained use, a corded model avoids that charging consideration. With the KitchenAid, keep in mind that its advertised “up to 30 minutes” is a manufacturer claim and thicker or harder ingredients deplete its battery faster.
Count attachments you will use, not just attachments included
A whisk, chopper bowl, or blending jug can replace a separate task or container if it fits your routine. If you mainly purée soup, paying attention to reach, handling, and cleanup may be more useful than choosing a large accessory set. For dressings or whipped cream, consider whether a whisk and suitable container are included.

Consider handling, noise, cleanup, and storage
Weight and control matter during longer blending sessions; noise can matter in a shared home. Think about where the shaft and accessories will be stored and how many pieces you will need to wash after a typical recipe. Wattage or the number of speed settings alone does not establish how well a model will handle your food.

Can you use immersion blenders for smoothies?
Yes. RTINGS says an immersion blender can make a smoothie, and some models can produce mostly smooth results with fibrous ingredients when blended with liquid. A beaker can work for a single-serving smoothie. For large batches, a full-size blender is generally a better fit.

Can you froth milk with an immersion blender?
An immersion blender may introduce air into milk, but the supplied manufacturer and testing details do not establish a consistent frothing result across these four models. If milk frothing is a deciding feature, verify that the specific model is designed or documented for that use rather than assuming every immersion blender includes a frothing tool.
How these picks compare with other 2026 roundups
These are RTINGS’ category winners, not a consensus across reviewers. Good Housekeeping’s roundup, updated July 20, 2026, names Breville its overall choice, Hamilton Beach its value choice, KitchenAid its smoothie choice, and Vitamix its soup choice. Good Housekeeping says its Kitchen Lab tested 15 immersion blenders over the last two years for assembly and use, comfort, and performance. Bon Appétit’s June 2026 feature selects Braun MultiQuick 7 overall. Each publication uses its own testing and recommendation criteria, so different winners do not make RTINGS’ picks interchangeable or incorrect.
