Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteAI vulnerability software is a broad, non-standardized label for tools and services that help find, assess, validate, prioritize, disclose, or remediate security weaknesses involving AI systems—or tools that use AI to discover vulnerabilities in conventional software. Those are related but different jobs: a code scanner that uses AI does not necessarily test the security of an AI model, its data, or the application around it.
What the term means
There is no single formal definition shared by vendors or standards bodies. In the AI-security sense, vulnerability management can span identifying and assessing weaknesses, disclosing them, and remediating them. A 2024 research paper by Mohamad Fazelnia, Sara Moshtari, and Mehdi Mirakhorli describes that lifecycle and discusses issues such as AI-specific weakness classification, severity scoring, and mitigation. It is a research analysis and proposal, not an adopted universal standard. Read the paper.
When someone says “AI vulnerability software,” ask which of two meanings they intend:
- Security tools for AI systems: assess risks in AI models, data, application integrations, or deployment.
- AI-powered vulnerability tools: use AI to find or validate ordinary software weaknesses in code or applications.
Some offerings may address both, but the label alone does not establish that they do.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What parts of an AI system may be in scope?
An AI system is often more than a model. Depending on its design, it can include training or retrieval data, prompts, application code, APIs, connected tools, user identities and permissions, infrastructure, and third-party models. A useful assessment starts with the actual architecture, trust boundaries, use case, and threat model rather than treating the model as the whole system.
- Data and supply chain: data integrity, untrusted data, and third-party models or components.
- Model and algorithm: weaknesses in model behavior or AI-specific design and implementation.
- Application integration: prompts, retrieval sources, APIs, connected tools, identities, and permissions.
- Deployment and operations: configuration, monitoring, version changes, and runtime controls.
- Conventional software: defects in code or applications that an AI-assisted scanner may discover or validate.
Not every system needs every type of test. OWASP’s AI Exchange organizes security and privacy threats around assets, impacts, attack surfaces, and lifecycle, and covers agentic, analytical, discriminative, generative, and heuristic AI. It also notes that some data-centric threats can affect systems without an AI model. Explore the OWASP AI Exchange.

AI-specific assessment versus AI-assisted code scanning
The distinction matters when comparing products. A scanner that applies AI to conventional source code may help identify software vulnerabilities, but that capability by itself does not show that it tests model behavior, data integrity, or controls in an AI application. Conversely, an AI-system assessment may focus on those risks without serving as a general-purpose code scanner.
For example, Google Cloud describes CodeMender as a code-security agent that scans codebases using multiple models, analyzes complex flaws, and validates exploitability with proof-of-concept exploits in a customer-managed environment. That is an example of AI-assisted discovery and validation of conventional software vulnerabilities; the description is Google’s, not an independent performance evaluation. In an announcement dated April 23, 2026, CrowdStrike described Project QuiltWorks and its Frontier AI Readiness and Resilience Service as coalition-based assessment and remediation work, including frontier-AI scanning of applications and codebases and exploitability-focused prioritization. The announcement names Accenture, EY, IBM Cybersecurity Services, Kroll, OpenAI, and CrowdStrike among participants. It is an example of a service initiative, not evidence that every organization can obtain a particular service or that the capabilities have been independently evaluated. CrowdStrike’s announcement.

OWASP AISVS
The Artificial Intelligence Security Verification Standard (AISVS) is a structured checklist for verifying AI-driven applications. OWASP describes three verification levels aligned with ASVS and coverage across the AI lifecycle, including training-data integrity and deployment monitoring. It is a verification reference; a product’s claim of alignment should not be treated as proof of conformance unless that claim is independently demonstrated. OWASP AISVS.
Proposed AI vulnerability database
The 2024 paper proposes an Artificial Intelligence Vulnerability Database (AIVD) and AI-specific weakness and reporting elements. The cited paper presents a proposal; it does not establish AIVD as a universal or official vulnerability database. The authors’ paper.

How to evaluate a tool or service
Compare the specific offering against the system you need to protect. Vendor feature descriptions are useful for identifying stated capabilities, but they are not independent evidence of effectiveness.
| Evaluation area | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Coverage | Does it assess AI-specific assets, conventional application code, or both? Which components and lifecycle stages are included? |
| Method | Does it use static analysis, dynamic or adversarial testing, threat modeling, exploit validation, human review, or a combination? |
| Evidence | Can it show affected components, reproducible findings, exploitability evidence, and a practical validation path? |
| Prioritization | Are findings ranked using exploitability, business context, impact, or threat activity, or only generic severity scores? |
| Remediation | Does it offer actionable guidance, code changes, workflow integration, or expert assistance? How are proposed changes reviewed? |
| Deployment and data handling | Where does analysis run? What source code, prompts, model artifacts, or sensitive data leave your environment? |
| Framework fit | Can the assessment map to the controls or verification requirements relevant to your system, such as OWASP AISVS? |
| Change handling | Can you track model, data, prompt, tool, and configuration versions and retest after changes? |
These are evaluation questions, not a checklist of features that every product provides. The right scope depends on the architecture, threat model, deployment, and intended use.
