You pair it with Apple Find My or Google Find Hub—one network at a time—and its location updates depend on nearby devices participating in that network. That makes it a potential way to help locate luggage, not a guarantee of continuous or live tracking.
How Roam tracks luggage
Roam says the tracker uses Bluetooth and nearby devices in the selected network to report its location. When a participating device comes within range, it can help update the tracker’s reported location through Apple Find My or Google Find Hub. Roam’s setup documentation warns that updates may be intermittent, especially in quieter areas. Roam setup documentation
This is different from a tracker with its own GPS receiver and cellular connection. Roam does not independently determine and transmit its position over long distances; if no suitable network device comes near it, the location may not refresh. It therefore cannot promise continuous tracking of a bag in transit.
iPhone and Android compatibility
Roam supports both ecosystems as alternatives, not simultaneously. Pair it with Apple Find My for an Apple setup or Google Find Hub for an Android setup. Roam says changing networks requires removing the tracker and pairing it again. Roam setup documentation

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Using Roam with an iPhone
Roam’s setup documentation directs Apple users to pair it through Find My. Follow the pairing flow for the Apple network; the tracker cannot remain connected to Google Find Hub at the same time.
Using Roam with Android
Roam states that Android pairing requires Android 9 or later. Its setup guidance also calls for Bluetooth and Location to be on, nearby-device scanning to be enabled, and Google Play Services to be up to date. Google’s Find Hub directory lists Roam as a compatible device, while noting that availability and features can vary by region, carrier and device. - BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What Roam offers for a bag
Roam’s product page describes a built-in elastic strap for attaching the tracker to luggage or other belongings, so the listed design does not require a separate holder. The company specifies a replaceable, pre-installed CR2032 battery. It lists the device as 33 × 14 mm and 4 g and advertises an IP67 rating; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements or verification. Roam Smart Tracker product page
For lost-item recovery, Roam says a finder can scan the device’s unique QR code without installing an app to see a custom message. The company also says the feature can provide location information using what3words. These are Roam’s descriptions of the feature, not independently verified performance claims. Battery life and airline claims
Roam’s product page gives inconsistent battery-duration claims: it says both “up to a 2-year battery life” and “1+ year battery life.” Neither should be treated as a guaranteed duration. The page identifies the battery as a replaceable CR2032 but does not resolve that discrepancy. Roam Smart Tracker product page
The same page says the tracker can share its location with more than 50 airlines. Roam makes that claim, but the airline list and how the feature fits into individual baggage workflows have not been independently verified. Do not assume a particular airline supports it without checking directly with that airline. Roam Smart Tracker product page

Is Roam the right luggage tracker for you?
Roam is most relevant if your phone ecosystem matches the network you plan to use and you want a small, strap-attached Bluetooth tracker with a replaceable battery and QR-based recovery feature. Its main limitation is inherent to crowd-location tracking: updates rely on nearby devices, so a bag in a place with few participating devices may not report a fresh location. If you need location updates independent of nearby Apple or Android devices, Roam’s documented tracking method does not provide that.

- Choose the network deliberately: use Find My for an Apple setup or Find Hub for Android; only one can be paired at once.
- Check Android prerequisites: confirm Android 9 or later, enabled Bluetooth and Location, nearby-device scanning, and current Google Play Services.
- Set expectations: treat the reported location as a crowd-network update, not a continuous GPS feed.
