Siemens has disclosed vulnerabilities affecting specific SICAM products and components—not every device in the SICAM family. The documented risks range from service crashes to possible malicious firmware installation and unauthorized control of critical functions. Operators should identify the installed product and version, match them to the applicable Siemens ProductCERT advisory, and apply the remedy Siemens specifies for that issue.
Which SICAM products and vulnerabilities are affected?
“SICAM” is a product family, so the advisory’s affected-product and version tables determine whether a particular installation is in scope. The latest broad advisory, SSA-229470, was published on July 9, 2026, and updated on September 8, 2026. It covers SICAM A8000 CPCI85 for CP-8031/CP-8050, SICAM A8000 SICORE for CP-8010/CP-8012, SICAM EGS CPCI85, and SICAM S8000 SICORE.
SSA-229470 describes four distinct issues. Their preconditions and effects differ; the advisory’s overall severity ratings do not mean that every listed product is exposed in the same way.
| Issue | Documented condition and potential impact |
|---|---|
| CVE-2026-54798 | An authenticated attacker can reach an HTTP-accessible debugging interface and crash the web process, causing denial of service. |
| CVE-2026-54799 | A weakness in firmware-update signature validation could allow malicious firmware installation, persistent code execution, and system compromise. |
| CVE-2026-54800 | OPC UA security mechanisms are disabled in a default configuration, potentially allowing unauthorized access to or control over critical functions. |
| Administrative account modification issue | Insufficient credential validation during administrative account changes could potentially enable elevated privileges. Consult the advisory for its CVE mapping and product-specific details. |
Siemens lists CPCI85 versions before V26.20 and SICORE versions before V26.20.0 as affected by the four CVEs in SSA-229470; its remediation table specifies corresponding packages at V26.20 or later. Confirm the exact product and package in the advisory before applying a threshold to an asset.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For SSA-229470, Siemens gives overall severity scores of 7.2 (CVSS v3.1) and 8.6 (CVSS v4.0). These are vendor-published severity scores, not attack probabilities or site-specific risk assessments. The advisory also provides individual CVE scores.
How the March 2026 SICAM advisory differs
SSA-246443, published March 26, 2026, is a separate advisory for SICAM 8 CPCI85. Do not confuse its V26.10 remediation threshold with the later SSA-229470 thresholds.

| CVE | Documented issue |
|---|---|
| CVE-2026-27663 | Resource exhaustion in remote operation mode under a high volume of requests can affect service availability. |
| CVE-2026-27664 | A specially crafted XML input can cause an out-of-bounds write and possible service crash. |
SSA-246443 lists CPCI85 versions before V26.10 as affected and recommends V26.10 or later. Siemens gives this advisory overall scores of 7.5 (CVSS v3.1) and 8.7 (CVSS v4.0); neither score represents the probability of an attack against a particular installation.
Earlier SICAM and related risks to check separately
Older advisories describe different components, conditions, and fixes. They remain useful when checking an installed system, but their thresholds should not be substituted for the 2026 thresholds.

| Advisory and scope | Issue and relevant condition | Remedy stated by Siemens |
|---|---|---|
| SSA-071402, July 22, 2024; SICAM products | CVE-2024-37998 could allow administrative passwords to be reset without the existing password when auto login is enabled. CVE-2024-39601 concerns firmware downgrade by a remote authenticated user or an unauthenticated user with physical access. | The advisory names CPCI85 versions before V5.40 and recommends V5.40 or later. Check the advisory’s affected-product details for each issue. Its overall scores are 9.8 (CVSS v3.1) and 9.3 (CVSS v4.0). |
| SSA-794185, CVE-2024-3596; SICAM and related products | An on-path attacker between a RADIUS client and server may manipulate responses, potentially changing an Access-Reject into an Access-Accept. Siemens identifies RADIUS/UDP as vulnerable, considers similar attacks possible against RADIUS/TCP, and says RADIUS/TLS and RADIUS/DTLS are not vulnerable. | Apply the client and server countermeasures Siemens specifies; this is not simply a SICAM firmware-update issue. The advisory, published May 13, 2025, and updated June 9, 2026, gives overall scores of 9.0 (CVSS v3.1) and 9.1 (CVSS v4.0). |
| SSA-128393, CVE-2024-53832; SICAM A8000 CP-8031 and CP-8050 | An attacker with physical access to the SPI bus could observe a secure-element authentication password and use the secure element to decrypt encrypted update files. | Siemens requires both a firmware update and replacement hardware for the fix. The firmware update is effective only for the listed hardware variants at revision JJ or later. The advisory gives scores of 4.6 (CVSS v3.1) and 5.1 (CVSS v4.0). |
| SSA-975961, August 8, 2023; SICAM TOOLBOX II | Two local privilege-escalation vulnerabilities affect versions before V07.10 of this engineering workstation software. | Siemens recommends V07.10 or later and restricting local access. This is an engineering-solution advisory, not a device-firmware advisory. |
How to determine whether a site needs action
- Identify each asset precisely. Record the SICAM product and component, device model, installed firmware or software package, and hardware revision where relevant. A family name alone is not enough to establish exposure.
- Match the asset to each applicable advisory. Check Siemens ProductCERT’s affected-product table and the issue-specific conditions. For example, auto login matters to CVE-2024-37998, physical access matters to CVE-2024-53832, and the RADIUS protocol and client/server configuration matter to CVE-2024-3596.
- Use the remedy for that issue. Confirm whether Siemens specifies a software or firmware update, a configuration change, RADIUS client/server countermeasures, or— for CVE-2024-53832—replacement hardware as well as firmware. Do not infer a fix from a threshold in a different advisory.
- Plan deployment through the site’s change process. Siemens recommends using product tooling and documented procedures, validating updates before deployment, and having trained staff supervise the process. Operators must assess operational applicability and rollout for their own systems.
Reduce exposure while managing changes
Siemens recommends network protections such as firewalls, segmentation, and VPNs. These measures can help control access, but they do not replace the product-specific remediation or configuration changes in an advisory. For critical power systems, Siemens also recommends checking that resilient, multi-level redundant secondary protection schemes are in place.
Siemens ProductCERT’s advisory states: “Siemens strongly recommends applying the provided security updates using the corresponding tooling and documented procedures made available with the product.”
