What is actually new on the Phone (3a)?
Nothing’s support catalogue distinguishes the Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Pro and Phone (2a) Plus. It does not list a Phone (3a) Plus. The standard Phone (3a) is the model covered here; it should not be confused with the Pro.
Nothing’s specification page identifies the Phone (3a)’s components and advertises selected display figures relative to the Phone (2a) Plus. The available manufacturer material does not give a full, directly comparable specification sheet for the older model, nor independent tests. So a listed Phone (3a) specification is not automatically proof of an upgrade.
Display: a larger panel and manufacturer brightness claims
The Phone (3a) has a 6.77-inch FHD+ flexible AMOLED display with adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. Nothing also lists HDR10+, 1.07 billion colours, 2160Hz PWM dimming, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio on its Phone (3a) specification page.

Nothing advertises peak brightness of 3,000 nits and touch sampling at 1,000Hz, marking these as comparisons with the Phone (2a) Plus. These are manufacturer specifications and comparisons, not independent measurements. Peak brightness does not mean the screen sustains that level across the whole display, and the figures alone do not establish how the two phones look in everyday use.
Processor: a Qualcomm platform, not a proven speed result
The Phone (3a) uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, built on a 4nm TSMC process. Nothing lists eight cores with a maximum stated frequency of 2.5GHz, Adreno graphics, a Hexagon NPU and Qualcomm Spectra ISP.

This identifies the Phone (3a)’s processor platform; Nothing’s collected specifications do not provide a comparable benchmark score against the Phone (2a) Plus. The chipset change therefore does not, by itself, establish a particular real-world speed gain.

Nothing specifies rear video recording at 4K/30fps and 1080p at 30 or 60fps. The “30x ultra zoom” wording is the manufacturer’s feature label, not a promise of optical detail at 30x. Battery and charging: capacity is stated, endurance is not
Nothing’s 2025 launch release states a 5,000mAh battery for the Phone (3a) Series. The release does not establish a direct capacity comparison with the Phone (2a) Plus. The specifications considered here also do not verify a charging-wattage upgrade or independently measured battery-life improvement.

Memory, storage and physical specifications
Nothing’s EU product listing offers 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Those configurations describe that storefront, not necessarily every market. The listing showed €329 when accessed; price and availability can change, so check the current listing for your region.
Nothing gives the Phone (3a)’s dimensions as 163.52 × 77.50 × 8.35mm and its weight as 201g. The available evidence does not provide a directly comparable Phone (2a) Plus figure for a complete size, weight or memory-and-storage comparison.

What comes in the box
Nothing lists the handset, a 100cm USB-C cable, a pre-applied screen protector, a SIM tray ejector and a safety card as box contents. A replacement protector may be useful if the installed one wears out, but an immediate protector purchase is not necessary.
