The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G’s listed India price is ₹49,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage version, as shown by Xiaomi India at the time of checking on 4 October 2026. Its India specifications include a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 10,000mAh typical battery and 100W wired charging. Prices and stock can change.
Price and variants in India
Xiaomi India’s store displayed the 8GB/256GB model for ₹49,999 on 4 October 2026. That is an observed listing, not a guaranteed checkout price; discounts and availability may change. The store also showed a crossed reference price of ₹69,999, which should not be treated as the current selling price.

Display, performance and software
Display
The 6.83-inch panel has a 2772 × 1280 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Xiaomi lists HDR10+, Dolby Vision and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. That brightness figure is a manufacturer specification, not a measurement of sustained brightness in every setting.

Processor and storage
The India model uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi lists 8GB and 12GB RAM options, both with 256GB storage. These specifications alone do not establish gaming frame rates or comparative performance.
Operating system and updates
The phone ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi lists four years of OS updates and six years of security updates for the device.

Battery and charging
Xiaomi specifies a 10,000mAh typical-capacity silicon-carbon battery, 100W wired HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging. The company says actual charging speed varies by environment and conditions; 100W is the charger’s maximum output, not a guarantee that the phone will charge at that rate throughout a session.
Xiaomi also claims more than four days of use in a simulated light-use scenario. It describes the scenario as a simulation of typical activities and cautions that results vary with environment, software, network and usage. Xiaomi reports that the battery retains 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, citing TÜV SÜD certification; this is a manufacturer-reported figure.

Cameras
The rear camera system combines a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera is 32MP. Xiaomi lists 4K video recording at 30fps for both the front and rear cameras. These hardware details do not by themselves show how image quality compares with another phone.
Xiaomi cautions that “Underwater Mode is a camera feature and does not extend the device’s water resistance.”

Durability and water resistance
Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, along with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. These ratings describe protection under specified test conditions; they are not permission to dive with the phone or use it without restriction underwater. Water resistance can also be affected by wear and damage.

What to consider before buying
At the observed ₹49,999 price for 8GB/256GB, the main trade-offs to weigh are battery capacity and charging, display, processor performance, camera system, software support and durability. 91mobiles’ review summary rated the phone 7.8/10, praising battery life, display and durability while identifying high price, weaker performance and camera compromises relative to rivals.
