The vivo X300 FE is the newer, higher-tier phone, with a flagship Snapdragon processor, telephoto camera, wireless charging and IP68/IP69 protection. The V40e has a larger display and launched at a much lower price. At their original India launch prices, the X300 FE 12GB+256GB cost ₹51,000 more than the V40e 8GB+128GB—but those are different memory configurations and launch dates, not a like-for-like or current-price comparison.

What is the India price difference?
Comparing the original announced base prices, the X300 FE 12GB+256GB was ₹79,999 and the V40e 8GB+128GB was ₹28,999—a difference of ₹51,000. The comparison spans different launch dates and RAM/storage configurations, so it does not show the premium between equivalent versions. vivo announced the V40e prices on September 25, 2024, and the X300 FE launch prices on May 6, 2026.

Which differences matter most?
Performance and software
The V40e pairs a Dimensity 7300 with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14; the X300 FE pairs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Those are the published chip and software details, not a direct performance comparison. No independent comparative benchmark is established here, so do not treat the model names or manufacturing process figures as a measured speed result.

Screen size and form
The V40e’s listed 6.77-inch AMOLED display is larger than the X300 FE’s 6.31-inch flat screen. That points to a choice between a larger-screen format and a more compact screen diagonal; it does not, by itself, establish which phone is easier to hold or how their panels compare in brightness, color or outdoor visibility.

Camera hardware
The V40e has a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP autofocus front camera. X300 FE adds a 50MP super-telephoto camera to its 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 50MP front-camera setup. The extra rear camera gives the X300 FE a dedicated telephoto option on paper; resolution alone does not establish image quality, and vivo’s up-to-100x digital zoom claim should not be read as 100x optical zoom.

The X300 FE’s optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is specified as 200mm-equivalent and had a ₹15,999 launch price. It is sold separately, requires the compatible accessories kit and is listed as compatible only with X300 FE. Treat the accessory cost as additional to the phone price, not as included camera hardware.
Battery and charging
vivo lists a 5,500mAh typical battery and 80W charging for V40e, versus 6,500mAh typical capacity, 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging for X300 FE. These figures do not establish real-world hours of use or charging times; those depend on factors such as workload, settings and charging conditions. vivo specifies maximum X300 FE charging rates subject to charger and cable and usage conditions.

Protection and build details
The X300 FE India specifications list IP68 and IP69 protection. An ingress-protection rating describes tested resistance under defined conditions; it is not a promise that damage from every exposure is covered. The cited V40e specifications do not state an IP rating, so this comparison cannot establish an equivalent rating for it. vivo lists the V40e at 183g and provides its dimensions; equivalent X300 FE dimensions and weight are not stated in the cited India materials.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the V40e if your budget is closer to its lower historical launch-price band, you want the larger listed display, or its selfie and portrait-oriented camera hardware meets your needs. It lacks the X300 FE’s listed telephoto camera, wireless charging and flagship-tier chip positioning.
- Consider the X300 FE if you prioritize a newer flagship-positioned processor and software, a smaller screen diagonal, a telephoto camera, wireless charging and the listed IP68/IP69 rating—and are prepared for its substantially higher announced prices. These are feature-based distinctions, not a tested value or performance verdict.
For a purchase decision, verify the exact configuration, current seller price, India warranty, included charger and offer terms on the listing you plan to buy. vivo named Amazon among the X300 FE sales channels in its announcements, but that does not verify a current listing, stock or price.
