Neither monthly-equivalent price is month-to-month, and both renew at a higher rate. The right choice depends on how many sites you need, whether daily backups or email matter, and what you are willing to pay after the introductory term.
The provider pages below were checked on October 4, 2026. Prices and features can vary by country, tax, signup route, and date, so confirm the checkout and renewal terms before purchasing.
Compare the real commitment, not just the monthly figure
These are provider-listed US offers, not independently tested performance rankings. The advertised monthly equivalent reflects a multi-year commitment; check the total due and renewal rate before choosing.
| Plan | Introductory commitment | Renewal | Listed features | Best fit and trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Premium | $2.99/month equivalent for 48 months prepaid; $143.52 total | $10.99/month | 3 websites; 20 GB SSD storage; weekly backups; domain free for 1 year | A low-cost fit for a few sites if you can pay four years upfront. The renewal rate is substantially higher. |
| Hostinger Unlimited | $3.99/month equivalent for 48 months prepaid; $191.52 total | $16.99/month | Unlimited websites; 50 GB NVMe storage; daily backups; domain free for 1 year | Consider it if you need more sites, storage, or daily backups; weigh those needs against the higher renewal. |
| Bluehost Starter | $3.99/month for a 36-month term; the page does not state a total here | $9.99/month | 10 websites; 10 GB NVMe storage; free domain for the first year; free SSL; weekly backups shown on the plan page; phone support not included | A shorter initial term than Hostinger’s four-year offers, but confirm the total, inclusions, and checkout terms before buying. |
Hostinger says its plans are paid upfront and that the monthly amount is the total plan price divided by the number of months. Its Premium offer therefore requires $143.52 upfront, while Unlimited requires $191.52. Bluehost’s renewal page lists Managed WordPress Starter at $9.99/month for a 36-month renewal term and warns that prices can change; check your account’s Renewal Center before purchase. These prices and listed features come from provider pages checked October 4, 2026, and are subject to change.

Which plan fits your site?
Choose Hostinger Premium for a small number of sites and the lowest listed upfront total

Consider Hostinger Unlimited when daily backups or more sites matter
Unlimited lists daily backups, 50 GB NVMe storage, and unlimited websites. The listed introductory total is $48 more than Premium across the same 48-month term, and its renewal is $6/month higher. That premium is relevant only if the added capacity or backup frequency matches your needs; “unlimited websites” does not establish unlimited storage or server resources.
Consider Bluehost Starter if a 36-month term is preferable
Starter lists 10 sites, 10 GB NVMe storage, weekly backups, a first-year domain, and SSL. Its 36-month initial term is shorter than Hostinger’s 48 months, but the cited plan page does not establish every checkout detail. It does not include phone support, according to that page. Check the live offer and the renewal term in your account.

Check WordPress compatibility before paying
WordPress.org recommends that a host support PHP 8.3 or later, MariaDB 10.11 or later or MySQL 8.0 or later, and HTTPS. It recommends Apache or Nginx as robust, featureful web servers. WordPress can still run on older legacy versions, but PHP 7.4 and MySQL 5.5.5 are end-of-life and may expose a site to security vulnerabilities.
Ask the host about the current software versions available on the specific plan, and how PHP applications are isolated within a hosting account. WordPress.org says hosting is more secure when PHP applications such as WordPress run using the account’s username rather than the server’s default shared username. Its suggested question for a host is: “I’m interested in running the open source WordPress web software, and I was wondering if my account supported the following:”

What WordPress.org listing does—and does not—tell you
WordPress.org’s hosting page lists both Hostinger and Bluehost, which is a useful starting signal, not an independent lab ranking or guarantee that a particular plan suits your site. WordPress.org says its listing is arbitrary and considers factors including contributions to WordPress.org, customer base, automatic installation and updates, GPL compliance, design, historical perception, correct WordPress naming, and up-to-date system software.

- What is due now? Confirm the full prepaid total, term length, taxes, and any checkout-specific price rather than relying on the monthly equivalent.
- What happens at renewal? Check the renewal rate and term in the provider’s current terms; promotional rates do not establish what you will pay later.
- Do the backups meet your needs? Compare frequency and whether you can restore a backup yourself. The plan listings specify weekly or daily frequency, but do not establish restore access details.
- Are domains and email included? The cited plan details list a first-year domain for each candidate; they do not establish email inclusion. Confirm domain renewal charges and email availability.
- Are storage and support adequate? Match the listed storage and support channel to your site. Phone support is not included with Bluehost Starter according to its pricing page.
- Can the plan grow with you? If you expect a store or expanding traffic, ask about resource limits and how support scales. Do not treat advertised visit estimates as capacity guarantees.
For independent comparison context, TechRadar’s 2026 comparison says SiteGround costs more than Bluehost and Hostinger in the plans it compares, while bundling email and backups. It also cautions that Bluehost’s advertised supported-visit figures are difficult to corroborate and may apply to basic sites. Those are TechRadar’s observations, not performance testing of the plans in this comparison.
