Adobe Commerce provides the commerce platform; Hyvä supplies storefront products that can change how a store is presented and used. A Hyvä rebuild may improve speed and usability, but its effect on conversions depends on the whole implementation: deployment model, integrations, catalog, checkout, and operational work. The evidence supports concrete examples, not a guaranteed uplift for every merchant.

Can Hyvä work with Adobe Commerce?

Yes. They describe different parts of a commerce stack, not competing names for the same product. Adobe Commerce handles commerce capabilities and operations; Hyvä offers a suite of frontend and platform products. The relevant choice is which Hyvä product fits the store and the Adobe Commerce deployment.

Hyvä’s product overview describes Hyvä Theme, Hyvä UI, Hyvä Checkout, Hyvä Enterprise, and Hyvä Commerce. Theme is the storefront theme; UI is a component library for Hyvä Themes; Checkout provides a customizable checkout. Hyvä Enterprise is positioned to enable Adobe Commerce capabilities including B2B, loyalty and gifting, content preview and staging, and Adobe Sensei services. Hyvä Commerce is its broader platform direction. These are distinct products: a discussion of “Hyvä” should not imply that every suite feature comes with the theme.

Which Adobe Commerce deployment are you running?

Deployment determines who operates the platform, what can be customized, and whether a storefront refresh is a frontend project or part of a wider migration. Adobe distinguishes SaaS, PaaS, and merchant- or provider-hosted deployments in its deployment guidance.

Deployment Operating model and code implications Storefront implications
Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service Adobe describes this as SaaS. The core is versionless and cannot be modified; customizations are modernized into App Builder applications. Adobe’s migration guide calls for rebuilding the storefront on Edge Delivery Services and re-establishing integrations using SaaS patterns.
Adobe Commerce on Cloud Infrastructure Adobe describes this as PaaS. The customer’s operating responsibilities and customization options differ from SaaS. A storefront replacement such as a Hyvä implementation is not the same project as migrating to Cloud Service.
On-premises The merchant or its provider hosts the platform. Hosting and platform operations remain part of the merchant-provider arrangement; storefront work must account for the existing customizations and integrations.

Adobe’s guide updated September 24, 2026 is specifically about moving to Cloud Service. It includes application customization, data, storefront, and integration work, and should not be confused with replacing a Luma storefront with Hyvä on an existing Commerce installation. See Adobe’s Cloud Service migration guide before treating those tasks as a Hyvä migration checklist.

Does Hyvä improve Adobe Commerce storefront speed?

It can be part of a performance improvement, but the available evidence does not establish a universal result attributable to the theme alone. Storefront speed depends on the delivered frontend, backend behavior, integrations, content, hosting, and the work done during a rebuild. Compare the actual store before and after changes, under comparable conditions, rather than treating a vendor claim or a single customer story as a forecast.

What Adobe’s scale benchmark does—and does not—show

Adobe reports that its Adobe Commerce on Cloud version 2.4.5 benchmark, designed around criteria intended to mimic an enterprise B2C organization, achieved the following figures. These are Adobe-reported benchmark results, not typical outcomes, capacity promises, or an SLA for an arbitrary merchant’s catalog and integrations. See Adobe’s benchmark article.

Metric Adobe-reported benchmark result
Orders 208,000 per hour
Pageviews 2 million per hour
Effective SKUs 242 million
GraphQL calls 10,500 per minute
Concurrent back-office users 500

Adobe also describes horizontal scaling and web-tier autoscaling for customers on scaled architecture. Its benchmark page lists a 99.99% infrastructure SLA and a 99.9% application SLA for Adobe Commerce on Managed Services; those figures refer to different service scopes and should not be collapsed into one availability claim.

What Hyvä customer stories show

Hyvä’s Audio-Technica case study, dated May 25, 2025, reports a 671% increase in mobile page speed, a 75% increase in conversion rate, and passing Core Web Vitals after a rebuild. The project also included SAP and D365 integrations, localized stores, PageBuilder and CMS blocks, Dotdigital, technical-debt work, content workflow changes, secure hosting, and faster deployments. Those results are outcomes stated by the case study, not a controlled test isolating Hyvä’s effect. The case reports that EMEA Website Manager Caroline Rodgers said the migration brought “increased usability” and “increased technical performance,” alongside improved organic rankings and easier management of a multi-country platform. Read the Audio-Technica case study for its project context.

Another example is Hyvä’s July 30, 2025 showcase of Helen of Troy, which says four direct-to-consumer storefronts—Hydro Flask, Osprey, OXO, and Drybar—moved to Hyvä Theme and Hyvä Checkout with Magebit in five months. The work targeted performance and Core Web Vitals ahead of Black Friday and involved technical debt, integrations, and schedule pressure. It demonstrates one multi-brand project, not a reliable duration estimate for another migration. See Hyvä’s Helen of Troy showcase.

How can a storefront change affect conversions?

Speed and usability can remove friction from shopping, but a conversion-rate change is an outcome of the entire customer experience—not proof that one theme caused the change. Checkout behavior, mobile usability, catalog discovery, content, localization, and operational reliability all matter. A credible evaluation tracks conversion alongside performance and checkout completion, while accounting for other changes made at the same time.

Hyvä’s Fletcher Stewart case study describes a customer who had never ordered online because of poor mobile performance placing a first online order within two weeks of the new site launching. That is a useful anecdote about a customer experience, not a measured general conversion effect. The case also quotes Fluid Commerce’s Ecommerce Delivery Director Rob Pimlott advocating Hyvä, including claims about speed, development costs, and design flexibility; this is an agency representative’s view, not neutral comparative research. See the Fletcher Stewart case study.

How hard is it to migrate an Adobe Commerce store to Hyvä?

There is no single migration effort estimate that applies to every store. The work depends on deployment, custom code, extensions, integrations, catalog and business logic, and whether the project is a storefront replacement or a platform migration. Treat the project as an engineering assessment, not simply a theme installation.

Scope the work before choosing a timeline

  • Map the current implementation: inventory storefront customizations, extensions, checkout behavior, content components, and dependencies.
  • Trace integrations: identify systems such as ERP, CRM, marketing automation, search, and fulfillment, then establish what must change and how it will be tested.
  • Review catalog and data design: Adobe’s implementation playbook advises avoiding unnecessary attributes and planning scalable architecture. See Adobe’s architecture guidance.
  • Define deployment ownership: clarify who operates hosting, platform updates, scaling, monitoring, and incident response for the selected deployment.
  • Validate the experience: measure field performance, Core Web Vitals, search and browsing behavior, and checkout completion before and after launch.
  • Plan around business risk: account for peak-season freezes, migration cutover, rollback, and the ongoing team that will own the storefront.

Hyvä’s Enterprise page lists a first-year license of €7,500, €5,000 for yearly renewal, or a €27,500 five-year upfront option for one Adobe Commerce installation with unlimited domains and storeviews; these vendor-listed prices were accessed October 4, 2026 and may change. The same page says Hyvä Edge bridges Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services with Hyvä’s frontend, and claims initial build times 30% to 50% lower than legacy Luma or heavy PWA alternatives. That is Hyvä’s comparison; without a stated independent methodology, it should not be treated as a verified forecast. Confirm current licensing and scope directly with Hyvä Enterprise.

How to decide whether Hyvä fits

  • Consider it when the current storefront is a meaningful source of performance or usability friction, the team can assess and adapt its customizations and integrations, and the expected customer benefit justifies a rebuild.
  • Assess alternatives when the underlying goal is a move to Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service: that migration has its own constraints and requires rebuilding on Edge Delivery Services, rather than assuming a Hyvä storefront is the destination.
  • Do not decide from headline metrics alone: set baseline measurements, define a representative traffic and checkout test plan, and separate frontend changes from simultaneous content, hosting, or integration work.
  • Require an ownership plan: identify the people responsible for releases, performance monitoring, extension compatibility, and peak-load readiness after launch.
