Verdict: Hostinger is worth considering for an Express.js app if you want a managed deployment path and less server administration. Choose its Web Apps hosting for convenience; choose a VPS if your project requires root access, custom server configuration, or hands-on control of the runtime. A positive test of a very small Express app is encouraging, but it does not establish how a database-backed app will perform under sustained production traffic.
Does Hostinger support Express.js and Node.js?
Yes. Hostinger describes managed deployment for Node.js apps, including Express.js. Its Express.js product page offers deployment by connecting a GitHub repository or uploading a ZIP; the general Node.js page also mentions deployment from an IDE. Hostinger support says Business web hosting and Cloud plans can deploy Node.js apps, with app management and Node.js version selection available in the dashboard.
This managed route is aimed at developers who want Hostinger to handle server setup. It is different from a VPS: Hostinger says VPS customers have root access and configure their own server. As Hostinger puts it, “With a VPS, you manage the OS, Node.js version, security updates, and process manager yourself.” That control is useful when you need a particular operating system, runtime, dependency, or deployment workflow, but it also means taking responsibility for administration.
How much does Hostinger Express.js hosting cost?
The official Express.js page lists two relevant 48-month prepaid offers. Hostinger states that all plans are paid upfront and that the displayed monthly rate is the total plan price divided by the term length. These are long-term offer rates, not month-to-month cancellation prices; the checkout price, offer availability, and terms may vary by region and change over time.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Plan | 48-month offer | Total paid upfront | Renewal rate shown | Published resources and features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unlimited (managed) | $3.99/month | $191.52 | $16.99/month | Unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe storage, daily backups and restore, CDN, AI tools, priority 24/7 support, and a free domain and business email for the first year. CPU and RAM figures are not stated on the cited product page. |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/month | $383.52 | $25.99/month | 10 Web Apps, 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage, dedicated IP, priority support, traffic power boost, and higher database performance and connection limits. |
Hostinger advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. That is a refund window, not a free trial; HostAdvice’s September 2026 review reports that it found no dedicated free trial. Review the current checkout and refund conditions before paying.
Which plan should you choose?
Choose Unlimited for a straightforward managed deployment
The lower-cost managed offer may suit a small app or project where reduced administration matters more than published CPU and RAM allocations. The plan page lists 50 GB of NVMe storage, daily backups, a CDN, and priority support, but does not state CPU or RAM figures. Do not assume the word “Unlimited” means unlimited compute, app capacity, or traffic; check the current plan terms and limits against your workload.

Choose Cloud Startup when its published resources match your needs
Cloud Startup has a clearer listed resource allocation: 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, and 100 GB NVMe, plus 10 Web Apps and a dedicated IP. Hostinger also lists higher database performance and connection limits and a traffic power boost. Those details make it the more explicit step-up for a team that needs more stated capacity or app slots, but they are not a substitute for measuring your own application.
Choose a VPS when you need root access
A VPS is the better fit when your deployment depends on custom server configuration or you want to manage the OS, Node.js version, security updates, and process manager yourself. The trade-off is operational work: you are responsible for configuring and maintaining that stack. Hostinger’s support guidance also distinguishes Agency static-front-end hosting, which does not run a persistent server-side process; it is not a substitute for a host that runs an Express server.

How do you deploy an Express.js app on Hostinger?
For the managed route, Hostinger describes connecting a GitHub repository or uploading a ZIP, then using framework detection and build handling. The general Node.js offering also mentions IDE deployment. Exact dashboard labels and options can change, so follow the current deployment flow shown for the plan you select.
- Prepare the app: ensure its start command and production build (if any) are defined in the project, and identify the environment variables it needs.
- Choose a managed deployment method: connect the repository through the Hostinger dashboard or upload the project as a ZIP, as supported by the selected offer.
- Set and verify the runtime: select the Node.js version explicitly where the dashboard allows it. HostAdvice’s reviewer reported that the default Node version in their September 2026 setup was past end-of-life; treat that as a reviewer-specific observation, not a guarantee about current defaults.
- Listen on the assigned port: configure the Express server to use
process.env.PORT, with an appropriate fallback for local development. HostAdvice’s reviewer reported receiving incorrect port guidance from Hostinger’s AI support in that setup, so confirm the actual assigned-port requirement rather than relying on that response. - Check configuration and delivery: inspect build logs, confirm environment variables are present, and verify whether the CDN is enabled for your deployment.
- Test the real workload: exercise the app’s routes, database calls, authentication, and expected traffic profile in the deployed environment before relying on it in production.
What do the Express.js performance tests show?
HostAdvice’s Walter Akolo, Hosting Expert, reported a test of a deliberately minimal Express server: three routes and a separate CSS file, with no database, authentication, or build tooling. In that review, updated September 10, 2026, the app scored 100 on desktop and 100 on mobile. The reviewer reported the following measurements for that test:

| Speed index | 1.0 seconds | 1.9 seconds |
| Total blocking time | 0 ms | 0 ms |
| Cumulative layout shift | 0 | 0 |
The review notes two earlier runs in the dashboard and that scores can vary. It also reports cache-lifetime scores of 50 on desktop and mobile, and a render-blocking-request score of 50 on desktop with no such issue shown on mobile. These are observations from the reviewer’s test and diagnostics, not general ratings of Hostinger’s infrastructure. The review further notes that the optimization help linked from its dashboard focused on WordPress.
The boundary matters more than the perfect score: HostAdvice explicitly says a larger Express app doing database-backed work on every request would be a different test. The published test does not establish database performance, maximum capacity, or behavior under sustained load. If those determine your hosting decision, test your own app and traffic pattern rather than treating the Lighthouse-style result as a capacity benchmark.

What does Hostinger’s separate shared-hosting test tell you?
TechRadar’s 2026 test is useful only as broader context about a different Hostinger product. It tested a basic WordPress site on the provider’s most basic shared-hosting plan, not an Express.js application. TechRadar reported 99.96% uptime over 10 weeks; a 382 ms average response time over the preceding seven days, ranging from 171 ms to 1.73 seconds; 878 ms page loading from 16 locations in the US and Europe; and 15 requests per second in a k6 test with 20 virtual users. The review cautions that results may differ for VPS, Cloud, or other products, so these figures should not be used to predict Express.js performance.
