Before the next patch window, identify each NetScaler appliance and its edition, check which CVE-specific configuration conditions apply, then choose the fixed build for that appliance’s branch. Do not use feature checks to clear an unpatched system: Cloud Software Group says CVE-2026-88771 affects all NetScaler ADC and Gateway deployments, including default configurations, and reports observed exploitation of that flaw and CVE-2026-88772.
1. Inventory each appliance and identify its fixed-build threshold
This guidance applies to customer-managed NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway appliances, including NetScaler instances in Secure Private Access Hybrid deployments. Cloud Software Group says it updates its managed cloud services and managed Adaptive Authentication; customers using only those vendor-managed services should not patch customer-owned appliances unless they also operate their own NetScaler instances. See the Citrix security bulletin for its current scope and thresholds.
For each appliance, record its product, installed build, release branch, edition, and whether it is customer-managed or vendor-managed. The bulletin identifies these affected versions and fixed thresholds:
| Product and edition | Affected when below | Fixed threshold |
|---|---|---|
| ADC/Gateway standard, 14.1 | 14.1-73.37 | 14.1-73.37 |
| ADC/Gateway standard, 13.1 | 13.1-64.23 | 13.1-64.23 |
| ADC FIPS, 14.1 | 14.1-73.37 FIPS | 14.1-73.37 FIPS |
| ADC FIPS/NDcPP, 13.1 | 13.1-37.279 | 13.1-37.279 |
These are minimum fixed thresholds in Cloud Software Group’s bulletin, not a recommendation to install an unsupported build. Select a later supported release only after confirming it is valid for the appliance and its change controls.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The reason a configuration review cannot substitute for patching is CVE-2026-88771: the bulletin describes it as unauthenticated remote code execution caused by improper input validation, affecting all NetScaler ADC and Gateway deployments, including defaults. Cloud Software Group reported on 2026-09-27 that “Exploits of CVE-2026-88771 and CVE-2026-88772 on unmitigated NetScaler deployments have been observed.”
2. Check configuration-dependent exposure
Review the running configuration and your configuration-management copy. The checks below identify relevant conditions for the other vulnerabilities; a match means the precondition applies, while no match does not remove exposure to CVE-2026-88771 on an unpatched appliance. Citrix lists these configuration examples in its bulletin.

Those patterns are configuration-text searches, not NetScaler CLI commands. - TCP ISN prediction — CVE-2026-88778: Check whether a virtual server uses one of the listed TCP-related types and whether

3. Choose and stage the remediation
Match every customer-managed instance to the threshold for its branch and edition, then select a supported fixed build. The bulletin lists the thresholds in the table above and urges affected customers to install the relevant updated versions as soon as possible.
For CVE-2026-88778, include the prescribed TCP configuration change when its precondition applies; installing fixed firmware alone is not the complete instruction for that issue. The bulletin does not specify patch-window duration, HA failover order, rollback steps, or service impact. Use the organization’s validated runbook and the applicable release-specific vendor documentation for those operational details.

What the severity scores do—and do not—tell you
Cloud Software Group’s 2026 bulletin assigns CVSS v4.0 base scores of 9.5 to CVE-2026-88771 and CVE-2026-88772, 9.3 to CVE-2026-88773, 7.0 to CVE-2026-88774, and 8.8 each to CVE-2026-88775 through CVE-2026-88778. These are severity scores, not breach counts or estimates of the chance a particular appliance will be compromised. Prioritize using both the fixed-build status and the actual configuration: the first RCE affects all deployments, while several other issues depend on specific features or settings.
