The Exynos 1480 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 look closely matched in the reported CPU results, but neither has a proven overall advantage across phones. In 91mobiles’ benchmark snapshot, Exynos leads in Geekbench single-core and AnTuTu, while Snapdragon is ahead by one point in Geekbench multi-core. Those figures come from real phones, not a controlled head-to-head test, so they are best treated as indicative rather than guaranteed results.
Exynos 1480 vs Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 at a glance
| Specification or result | Exynos 1480 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Process | 4 nm (Samsung) | 4 nm (91mobiles) | Both are listed at 4 nm; that label alone does not establish which phone will be more efficient. |
| CPU | Samsung describes four high-performance and four low-power cores. 91mobiles lists 4× Cortex-A78 up to 2.75 GHz and 4× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz. | 91mobiles lists 4× Cortex-A78 up to 2.6 GHz and 4× Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz. | The detailed Snapdragon core configuration is from a third-party specification page. |
| GPU | Xclipse 530 | Adreno; model name not stated on the cited 91mobiles page | The available specifications do not establish a complete GPU ranking. |
| AnTuTu | 1,053,896 | 984,877 | 91mobiles calls these the highest scores recorded among tested devices using each chip. |
| Geekbench single-core | 1,150 | 1,083 | 91mobiles-reported results. |
| Geekbench multi-core | 3,468 | 3,469 | 91mobiles-reported results; a one-point gap is effectively a tie in this snapshot. |
| Connectivity listed | 5G sub-6 GHz and mmWave, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 | Up to 2,800 Mbps peak download, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 | These are chip-level listings, not a guarantee that every handset supports every feature. |

Which chip is faster in benchmarks?
CPU: close results, with different leaders
In the 91mobiles figures, Exynos 1480 scores 1,150 in Geekbench single-core, compared with 1,083 for Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Multi-core results are virtually level: 3,468 for Exynos and 3,469 for Snapdragon. The multi-core difference is one point, too small in this reported snapshot to support a meaningful real-world performance claim.
AnTuTu: Exynos leads this reported snapshot
91mobiles reports an AnTuTu score of 1,053,896 for Exynos 1480 and 984,877 for Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. The site describes each number as the highest recorded among devices it tested with that processor. That makes the result useful as a comparison point, not a promise about what any particular phone will score.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What the benchmark results can—and cannot—tell you
These scores are summaries of testing on real devices, not a same-phone laboratory comparison. The cited pages do not establish that both chips were tested with identical cooling, software, memory, ambient temperature, benchmark version, or protocol. Benchmark totals also do not determine sustained gaming frame rates, power draw, or battery life.
Phone design and configuration affect results. Samsung cautions that its product specifications reflect internal test results and can vary with system configuration, use conditions, and environment. Cooling, firmware, and memory configuration can all affect the experience, so compare retail phones rather than assuming the chip score will carry over unchanged.

Graphics, gaming, and vendor performance claims
Samsung identifies the Exynos 1480 GPU as Xclipse 530, based on mobile AMD RDNA architecture, with support for variable rate shading and super resolution. Qualcomm positions Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 for gaming and says its GPU performance improves by up to 21%. Qualcomm also claims 20% faster app launches and 18% less screen stutter. Those percentages are Qualcomm’s platform claims, not independent measurements showing an advantage over Exynos 1480.
Samsung reports a 53% GPU performance improvement and approximately four times the NPU performance for Exynos 1480 versus Exynos 1380, based on Samsung’s internal testing. That is a generational comparison within Samsung’s products, not a comparison with Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Neither set of vendor figures establishes which chip sustains higher frame rates or runs cooler in comparable phones.

Connectivity: verify the phone, market, and carrier
The cited specifications list Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, while Samsung lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for Exynos 1480. Samsung’s page also lists sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G for Exynos; 91mobiles lists up to 2,800 Mbps peak download for Snapdragon. These capability listings do not ensure that a finished phone includes or enables each feature. Regional model differences and carrier support matter, so check the exact handset specifications for your market before buying.
Which should you choose?
For CPU responsiveness, the reported single-core result favors Exynos 1480, while multi-core is effectively tied. The reported AnTuTu result also favors Exynos, but that is a highest-recorded-device figure rather than a controlled comparison. Snapdragon’s stated platform improvements may be relevant, but they do not answer the direct comparison on their own.

Choose between phones built around these chips by weighing the complete device: sustained performance and temperature under your workload, battery life, memory configuration, software support, camera implementation, connectivity in your region, price, and availability. The cited evidence does not establish a winner for long-duration thermals or battery life.
