Compare phones at the same price and size tier, then decide based on what matters most: display, camera style, battery and charging, software, or the devices and services you already use. For a mainstream comparison, look at the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17; for premium flagships, compare the Galaxy S26 Ultra with an iPhone Pro Max of the same generation.
Which Samsung Galaxy is comparable to which iPhone?
Start with phones in the same class rather than comparing a base iPhone with Samsung’s largest, most expensive model. The Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17 are the mainstream pair surfaced in current model comparisons. At the premium end, compare the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the iPhone 17 Pro Max—or with the newer iPhone 18 Pro Max when that is the model available to you.
Model names alone do not guarantee equal storage, price, or features. Check the exact configuration sold in your country before deciding. A February 26, 2026, India-market report from Gadgets 360 said both the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17 started at 256GB there; it listed the Galaxy S26 at Rs. 87,999 for 12GB RAM/256GB and the base iPhone 17 Rs. 5,099 less. Those are reported Indian launch-market prices, not a current worldwide price comparison.
For another dated, market-specific reference, Tom’s Guide’s US premium comparison listed the Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,299, $100 more than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with the listed Galaxy configuration starting at 256GB. Prices, configurations, and availability change, so use local listings for a purchase decision.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Samsung vs. iPhone: the practical trade-offs
| What matters | What the reviewed phones show | How to apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Display and privacy | In Tom’s Guide’s S26 Ultra/17 Pro Max comparison, the Galaxy’s Privacy Display and outdoor readability stood out; the iPhone had wider viewing angles and a slightly higher HDR brightness result, while the Galaxy panel was described as slightly more accurate. | Prioritize the feature you will actually use: privacy in public, viewing from an angle, outdoor use, or image presentation. These are review findings for those models and test conditions. |
| Camera and video | The review noted improved low-light results on the S26 Ultra’s main and telephoto cameras versus its predecessor and praised Horizon Lock stabilization. Its iPhone daylight video looked crisper; Samsung’s looked more vibrant. The Galaxy won that review’s video category. | Consider whether you prefer crispness or a more vivid look, and whether low light, zoom, or stabilization matters most. Do not assume Ultra-model results apply to base phones. |
| Performance | Tom’s Guide reported Geekbench scores of 3,785/11,563 for the S26 Ultra and 3,871/9,968 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max (single-/multi-core). It also reported a narrow Galaxy lead in one 3DMark graphics test, while the iPhone had higher stability in its 20-minute Wild Life Extreme stress test. | These are results from named tests, not a guarantee of which phone will feel faster in your apps. Benchmark version, software, and test method affect results. |
| Battery and charging | Tom’s Guide’s test results differ by comparison and iPhone generation; see the separate battery section below. | Compare results from the same test rather than mixing figures from separate reviews. Everyday runtime depends on use. |
| Software and AI | The reviewed Galaxy’s customization and AI features were strengths in Tom’s Guide’s comparison. | Choose based on the functions you need, not a count of AI features; check current software, language, and regional availability. |
Which has the better display?
In Tom’s Guide’s comparison of the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the Galaxy’s built-in Privacy Display was a distinctive advantage, and the reviewer found it easier to read outdoors. The iPhone offered wider viewing angles and a slightly higher HDR brightness result in the test; the Galaxy’s panel was described as slightly more accurate. These are observations about those two models, not every Samsung and Apple display.
If you often read sensitive information in public, consider whether the Galaxy’s privacy feature is useful enough to outweigh how you prefer a screen to look when viewed from the side. If you mostly watch video or share the screen with someone beside you, viewing angles may matter more. Try the exact models in person if screen handling is a deciding factor.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Which takes better photos and video?
There is no single camera winner established across all Galaxy and iPhone models. In the S26 Ultra versus iPhone 17 Pro Max review, Tom’s Guide reported improved low-light performance from the Galaxy’s main and telephoto cameras compared with its previous generation and praised Horizon Lock video stabilization. In its daylight video comparison, the iPhone clip looked crisper, while the Samsung clip appeared more vibrant; the Galaxy won the review’s video category.
Those findings are editorial observations for the specific premium phones tested. They do not establish how the base Galaxy S26 compares with the iPhone 17, or which camera will suit every subject and preference. When choosing, consider the situations you shoot most—such as dim interiors, distant subjects, or moving video—and look at sample images or try both phones. Megapixel counts alone do not settle image quality.

Battery life and charging: keep tests separate
Battery figures depend on the test procedure, so compare results only when the outlet and method match. Tom’s Guide reported the following figures in separate comparisons; they are editorial measurements, not a standardized cross-publication benchmark.
| Tom’s Guide comparison | Battery-drain test runtime | Charge after 30 minutes |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 18 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S26 Ultra, 2026 test | 18 hours 27 minutes for iPhone 18 Pro Max; 16 hours 40 minutes for Galaxy S26 Ultra | 80% for iPhone 18 Pro Max; 77% for Galaxy S26 Ultra |
| iPhone 17 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S26 Ultra, earlier comparison | 17 hours 54 minutes for iPhone 17 Pro Max; 16 hours 10 minutes for Galaxy S26 Ultra | 64% for iPhone 17 Pro Max; 77% for Galaxy S26 Ultra |
The second row is from an earlier comparison and should not be merged with the later iPhone 18 Pro Max result. Neither test guarantees how long a phone will last in your routine. Apple’s own battery figures use a separate manufacturer methodology; its iPhone 18 Pro specifications and test notes say July 2026 testing used pre-production iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max units and specify USB-C or MagSafe charging equipment. Keep Apple’s “up to” claims distinct from third-party drain-test results.

Software, AI, and your existing devices
Tom’s Guide highlighted Samsung’s AI features and customization as strengths in its premium-phone comparison. That does not mean every feature will be available on every Galaxy, in every language, or in every region. Before buying for a particular AI function, confirm that it is supported on the exact model, software version, language, and market you use.
Your existing devices and services may be more decisive than a feature checklist. Consider how the phone fits with the computer, tablet, watch, earbuds, and services you already rely on. If you are switching ecosystems, check which apps, accessories, and workflows you will need to replace or adapt; the comparison findings here do not establish a universal ecosystem winner.

How to choose the right one
- Match the class. Compare Galaxy S26 with iPhone 17 for the mainstream tier, or S26 Ultra with a Pro Max model for premium phones.
- Match the configuration and local price. Check storage, RAM where listed, current offers, and what each model costs in your country.
- Rank your priorities. Decide whether display privacy, camera characteristics, video, battery test results, charging, customization, or ecosystem fit matters most.
- Verify model-specific details. Confirm that the features you want—including AI functions—are available for that model, software version, language, and region.
- Check charging and accessories. Confirm compatible charging equipment and what is included with the phone before buying a charger, case, or other accessory.
Verdict: Samsung or iPhone?
Choose between specific models, not brand reputations. The reviewed Galaxy S26 Ultra has compelling display privacy, customization, and video strengths; the iPhone Pro Max models in Tom’s Guide’s comparisons had strong results in some camera, performance, and battery measures. The right choice depends on which differences matter to you and the price and configuration available in your market.
