In games, the June 2022 results looked roughly like mobile RTX 3050 to RTX 3060 performance, depending on the title. One 3DMark Time Spy Graphics score landed between cited mobile RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti averages—but that was a single synthetic result, not evidence of RTX 3070-class gaming overall.
What the early A730M comparison showed
HotHardware reported the preliminary results on June 7, 2022, from a Weibo user testing an Intel Arc A730M in a Mechanic Dawning Discovery Edition laptop with a Core i7-12700H. HotHardware said the software configuration and GPU driver state were unknown, so the figures should be treated as an early snapshot rather than a controlled, broad comparison. HotHardware’s report supplied both the Time Spy comparison and the game results.
One Time Spy score compared higher
The reported A730M 3DMark Time Spy Graphics score was 10,107. HotHardware compared it with Notebookcheck averages of 9,663.5 for the mobile GeForce RTX 3070 and 10,409 for the mobile RTX 3070 Ti, placing the A730M result between them. The same comparison put it above the Radeon RX 6700M average of 8,988.5. These are the figures and comparison context reported in 2022, not a direct, same-system test against those GPUs.
Game results looked closer to RTX 3050 and RTX 3060
The same early report gave these average frame rates:

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
| Game and preset | 1080p | 1440p |
|---|---|---|
| Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Very High | 38 FPS | 32 FPS |
| F1 2020, High | 95 FPS | 123 FPS |
| Metro Exodus, High | 70 FPS | 55 FPS |
HotHardware described these games as varying between mobile RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 performance. Tom’s Hardware characterized Metro Exodus as closer to an RTX 3060 Mobile and F1 2020 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as closer to an RTX 3050 Mobile, while warning that three games were not enough to judge the GPU. Its article also reproduced minimum and maximum frame-rate details from the same test, including lows of 9–10 FPS in Metro Exodus and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey; Shadow of the Tomb Raider crashed on launch in the reported attempt. Those results make the limits of average-FPS comparisons especially clear. Tom’s Hardware’s coverage documents those additional qualifications.
Why laptop power changes the comparison
The A730M is a laptop GPU, and its power configuration matters. Intel lists an 80–120 W total graphics power (TGP) range, along with 24 Xe cores, 24 ray-tracing units, 384 execution units, 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit interface, and 336 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Intel notes that specifications and product descriptions may change. See Intel’s A730M specifications.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
A later ComputerBase review of the Medion Erazer Major X10 tested A730M profiles at 120 W, 80 W, and 50 W. In its 3DMark Time Spy results, the 120 W profile scored 9,552 with MUX and 8,913 without MUX; the 80 W profile scored 7,603, and the 50 W profile scored 4,464. The comparison list included a desktop RTX 3060 score of 8,901 in that benchmark. ComputerBase reported that the 80 W result produced 20% fewer FPS than the 120 W result in the cited synthetic comparison. These are test-bench results, not a prediction that an A730M laptop will match a desktop card or another laptop in games. The review illustrates why GPU power and graphics routing must be considered alongside the model name. ComputerBase’s A730M review provides the tested profiles and results.
What Intel’s own benchmark adds—and does not add
Intel’s Mobile Performance Index lists 164 FPS for an A730M system in Apex Legends at 1080p, custom medium settings, using DX11. Intel identifies the system as a Core i7-12700H with 2×16 GB DDR5-4800, Windows 11 Pro, and graphics driver 30.0.101.1735; the benchmark entry covers October 20, 2022–October 16, 2023. Intel says its scores use PresentMon or in-game benchmarks and documents the workload. This is a separate vendor benchmark, not a GeForce head-to-head result and not a validation of the Weibo user’s test. Intel’s Mobile Performance Index provides its configuration and methodology notes.

How to interpret an A730M-versus-RTX claim
For a useful comparison, match the specific workload and settings rather than relying on a GPU label or one benchmark score. Check the following details:
- Game or benchmark: synthetic tests and individual games can produce different rankings.
- Resolution and settings: compare the same resolution, preset, and graphics options.
- Performance behavior: average FPS alone may conceal low frame rates or inconsistent delivery; look for minimums or frame-time information where available.
- Laptop power profile: the A730M’s stated TGP range is 80–120 W, and the ComputerBase results varied substantially across tested profiles.
- System configuration: CPU, memory, driver version, and MUX or comparable graphics-routing setup can affect results.
The early comparison does not establish that the A730M is generally equivalent to an RTX 3070. It shows a high single Time Spy score alongside game results that the reporting outlets placed nearer RTX 3050 Mobile to RTX 3060 Mobile, with substantial uncertainty about the original test setup.
