Enable JavaScript in the browser you use, then reload the page. Samsung Internet and Chrome have different settings paths, so first identify which app you opened.
Enable JavaScript in Samsung Internet
- Open the Samsung Internet app.
- Tap Menu (the three horizontal lines), then tap Settings.
- Tap Sites and downloads, then Site permissions.
- Switch on Allow JavaScript, then return to the page and reload it.
These are the steps in Samsung’s US support instructions. The same support page suggests checking cookie settings if a site still has trouble.
Enable JavaScript in Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Settings.
- Tap Site settings, then JavaScript.
- Turn JavaScript on, return to the page, and reload it.
This is the route in Google’s Chrome Help.
If the menus look different or the page still will not work
Confirm which browser is open
Samsung Internet and Chrome do not share a JavaScript setting. Make sure you are following the path for the app displaying the page. Labels can vary between app and Android versions; Samsung’s older Korea support instructions give different routes for Android 9/10 and Android 11/12, so they should not be treated as the current universal path.
Try other relevant checks
- Reload the page after enabling JavaScript.
- Check whether the browser has an update available.
- Review the site’s privacy or permission settings. For some Google sign-in flows, stricter privacy settings may mean you need to add the site to an allowed list, as Google Account Help explains.
- In Samsung Internet, check cookie settings; Samsung identifies them as a possible factor for some sites.
These are troubleshooting checks, not guaranteed fixes: JavaScript being enabled does not rule out another cause.

Why a sign-in page may ask for JavaScript
Some sign-in flows require a browser that supports JavaScript and has it turned on. Google Account Help says, “To help protect your account, Google doesn’t let you sign in from some browsers.” Google lists JavaScript being unsupported or turned off as a reason a browser may be excluded; it identifies Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Edge as browsers that support JavaScript.
