Some Samsung Galaxy phones can use two mobile lines, but the supported SIM combination depends on the exact model, regional variant, and carrier. Check whether a candidate accepts two physical Nano-SIMs or a Nano-SIM plus an eSIM, then confirm that your carrier can activate the specific phone before buying or switching service.
Which Samsung phones support dual SIM?
Samsung’s support pages document dual-SIM use on specific models, not as a feature guaranteed across the Galaxy range. For example, Samsung’s US setup instructions cover simultaneous physical SIM and eSIM use on the Galaxy A26 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE. A Samsung Business US specification sheet for a carrier-specific Galaxy S23 variant lists Dual SIM and Nano/eSIM.
These examples do not establish support for every version of those phones worldwide, or for every Galaxy model. Before choosing a device, verify its complete model number and country or market variant in Samsung’s specifications or support information. A model name alone may not identify the SIM configuration sold in your market.
What dual-SIM combinations can a Galaxy phone use?
“Dual SIM” means a phone can use two mobile lines, but it does not by itself tell you which SIM types fit. Depending on the model and market, a Galaxy phone may support a combination such as a physical Nano-SIM and an eSIM; some models may instead support two physical SIMs. Confirm the supported combination for the exact device rather than assuming that a second physical tray or eSIM is available.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Physical SIM: A removable card inserted into the phone’s SIM tray. Samsung’s US guidance describes Nano-SIM use on supported Galaxy phones. Follow the device’s tray instructions and seat the card correctly.
- eSIM: A digital SIM embedded in the phone. It requires a service plan and activation from a carrier that supports eSIM on that exact device.
Will dual SIM work with your carrier?
Phone capability and carrier support are separate requirements. Samsung notes that eSIM availability can depend on the model, region, and service provider, and that some carriers may not yet support eSIM on Galaxy phones. Check both carriers if you plan to use two networks, and ask specifically whether they support eSIM activation for your phone’s exact model or SKU.
- Find the full model number and the market or region for the phone you are considering.
- Confirm which two-SIM combination that variant supports: for example, Nano-SIM plus eSIM or two physical SIMs.
- Ask the intended carrier whether it supports that SIM type and can activate service on the exact device. If using eSIM, confirm that a compatible plan is available.
- Check the phone’s SIM Manager options for choosing preferred lines for calls, messages, and mobile data; controls vary by model and software version.
Samsung’s regional instructions illustrate why checking the exact variant matters: its support documentation for the Galaxy A26 5G and Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE is US-specific, while its S22 eSIM guidance is for Saudi Arabia. Those pages are useful for the configurations and steps they describe, not proof that another region’s version behaves identically.

How to set up two SIMs on a Samsung Galaxy phone
Insert a physical Nano-SIM
Use the SIM tray and insertion method specified for your model. Samsung advises seating the card correctly; a card that is misaligned may not be detected. If the phone does not recognize it, follow Samsung’s SIM card troubleshooting steps.
Activate an eSIM
First make sure the phone variant and carrier support eSIM and that you have an eligible plan. Depending on the model and carrier, Samsung documents eSIM activation using a carrier-provided QR code, as well as supported plan-transfer or plan-search flows on the named US models. Available methods are not identical on every Galaxy phone.

Look in Settings for Connections > SIM card manager or SIM manager. Samsung’s Gulf support instructions use these areas for SIM and eSIM management, but menu wording and options may differ with device and software version.
Choose which line to use
In SIM Manager, enable the lines you want active and set preferred SIMs for functions such as calls, texts, or mobile data where the phone offers those controls. Some supported devices also provide automatic data switching, which can use another line for data if the preferred SIM cannot connect. Do not assume that every Galaxy dual-SIM model includes every preference or switching option.

What to expect from two active lines
SIM Manager gives supported phones a way to manage which line handles particular functions. That does not mean every control is available on every device, or that two lines will have identical network features: service availability depends on each plan, carrier, and the phone’s configuration. Samsung’s Saudi Galaxy S22 guidance also cautions that using Nano-SIM and eSIM simultaneously may reduce data-transfer speeds in some areas. Samsung does not quantify that possible reduction, and it should not be treated as a universal result for all Galaxy phones or locations.
