Gently rotate the earbuds into a comfortable position and test the fit while moving. If they still loosen, look for compatible extra-small tips or a model with a different retention design; accessories are not universal.
Fit the earbuds before buying anything
1. Check the orientation and attachments
Confirm that the left and right earbuds are in the correct ears and that each tip or wing is attached in the way the manufacturer specifies. Earbud nozzles and tip attachments vary, so a replacement that looks similar may not fit your model. Huawei, for example, gives attachment instructions by product family and warns that some tip families are not interchangeable (Huawei Consumer Support).
2. Try tip and wing sizes separately in each ear
Start with the sizes included with your earbuds. Test one size at a time in each ear: it is normal for the left and right ears to need different sizes. Soundcore, Huawei, and Avantree all note that sizing can differ between ears (soundcore; Huawei; Avantree).
Judge each size by comfort, whether the tip seats as intended, and whether the earbud stays put. The right adjustment depends on the model and the symptom: soundcore says an oversized tip or wing can prevent full seating and make an earbud feel loose, while Huawei’s general advice for earbuds that do not fit securely or fall out is to try a larger tip. Follow the guidance for your specific model rather than assuming that sizing up or down always fixes slipping.

3. Reposition gently
Some earbuds fit better with a slight twist instead of a straight push. Sony recommends twisting to position the tip and says gently lifting the top of the ear while twisting may help. Soundcore also recommends a gentle twist. Use only the movement appropriate to your model, and stop if it hurts or feels uncomfortable. Avantree specifically warns: “Do not force or push the earbud deeply into your ear” (Sony; soundcore; Avantree).
4. Check the fit while moving
After each adjustment, gently turn your head from side to side and look up and down to see whether the earbuds stay in place, as Avantree recommends. If your model offers an in-app fit or seal test, run it using the manufacturer’s instructions. Soundcore describes its fit test as a way to check the seal; Bose provides an Earbud Seal Test for QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. A good seal is useful feedback for applicable models, but passing a seal test does not prove the earbuds will stay secure during every activity (soundcore; Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds).

If adjustment does not solve the problem
Consider a different retention design
Earbud fit depends on more than tip size: the shape of the earbud body and the way a wing, band, or hook rests against the ear also matter. Some models use wings or stability bands; some sport earbuds use hooks around the ear. For example, soundcore describes adjustable, rotatable hooks on its Sport X20, while Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra guidance discusses changing the tip or stability band. These are product-specific designs, not accessories that can be assumed to fit other earbuds (soundcore Sport X20; Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds).
For the Avantree Aura Loop Dual specifically, Avantree suggests trying its Earfin after testing the included S/M/L tips. That recommendation applies to the Aura Loop line; it is not evidence that the Earfin fits unrelated models (Avantree).

Choose compatible replacement tips
Check the exact earbud model and its nozzle or attachment style before buying replacement tips. A useful search is “replacement silicone ear tips for [exact earbud model],” adding “XS” if the manufacturer offers that size. Huawei’s Canada English support page lists XS, S, M, and L tips for applicable product families, but availability and compatibility depend on the model; the page also warns that FreeBuds 7i, 6i, and 5i tips are not interchangeable (Huawei Consumer Support).
If you are comparing other earbuds, check the supplied tip sizes, body shape, retention design, and whether sizing can be adjusted independently for each ear. Confirm that any chosen tip or accessory also fits the charging case using the product’s own compatibility information.

What the available guidance can—and cannot—tell you
The cited manufacturer support pages explain fit steps and compatibility for their named products; they do not establish that one technique or accessory works for everyone. Sony’s fitting page was last modified on December 5, 2024, and its general troubleshooting page is older, dated October 30, 2020. Avantree’s cited support article is dated September 9, 2026. These are maker instructions, not independent comparative tests, and they do not guarantee a particular fit outcome. The cited guidance also does not establish how common it is for earbuds to fall out.
