Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesStart with the exact job posting, then check it against the employer’s official engineering and careers information. Use candidate reports to spot questions—not as proof of what your interview or job will be like. This sequence helps you decide whether the opening fits and prepare useful questions for the recruiter or hiring team.
1. Start with the specific job posting
Company-wide information can explain what an employer builds, but only the live opening can show what it says it needs for this role. Treat the posting as your reference point while you investigate.
- Record the responsibilities and separate required qualifications from preferred ones.
- Note the location, level, named team, product, and technical domain, if listed.
- Mark anything unclear, such as how much of the work involves design, implementation, testing, or operations.
Compare the requirements with your experience and goals. A company’s general technology stack or mission does not establish that a particular opening is a match.
2. Find out what the company builds and how engineering contributes
Look at the employer’s official product, engineering, and careers pages. They may describe the users or products served, team structure, engineering principles, technologies, and current projects. For example, Glassdoor’s engineering page describes teams and principles and lists web, iOS, and Android technologies; those are Glassdoor-specific details, not a model for every engineering organization: Glassdoor engineering.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check that company-level descriptions align with the team and responsibilities in the posting. Public engineering material can provide context, but may not describe the exact opening or remain current.
3. Look for team and role context
Use official candidate guidance to identify questions the job description leaves open. Texas Instruments advises candidates to learn about current projects and long-term vision, and suggests asking about technology, culture, and how success is measured: Texas Instruments candidate guidance.

Turn those topics into role-specific questions. For example: “What’s the most exciting project your team has worked on recently, and what impact did it have?” Ask how the advertised role connects to the team’s priorities rather than assuming a company-wide project will be part of your work.
4. Check the stated interview assessment
An employer’s official interview guide can help you understand what it says it evaluates. Atlassian says its engineering assessments emphasize broad distributed engineering skills, problem solving, and learning agility rather than proficiency in one language. That is Atlassian’s stated approach; other employers may assess candidates differently: Atlassian engineering interview guide.

Use the guide to focus preparation, then compare it with the requirements in your posting. Ask the recruiter to confirm the interview stages and format for your particular role.
5. Use candidate reports as leads, not guarantees
Interview-site reports may give you examples of questions or candidate experiences, but each report describes an individual process tied to a role, date, and location. Look for repeated, recent patterns rather than relying on one account, and ask the recruiter to confirm any detail that would change how you prepare: candidate reports.

Questions to take to the recruiter or hiring team
- What are the team’s current priorities, and how would this role contribute?
- What is the balance of design, implementation, testing, and operational work?
- How does the team collaborate with other engineering groups or disciplines?
- What interview stages and assessment formats should I expect for this opening?
- How will you measure good performance in the first few months?
- What are the location or work-arrangement expectations, and where can I confirm compensation and benefits?
Texas Instruments specifically recommends asking about technology, team culture, and role success measures; tailor those subjects to the responsibilities in the opening you are considering: Texas Instruments candidate guidance.
Keep your research current
Technology, organization, products, role requirements, hiring steps, and candidate reports can change. Recheck the live posting and the employer’s official pages, and treat candidate accounts as dated individual experiences—not promises of what you will encounter.
