Google’s May 2020 Stadia update added four games to Stadia Pro and announced wireless Stadia Controller play in Chrome on PC. The wireless feature used a linking code on Stadia.com; it was not ordinary Bluetooth pairing. Stadia has since shut down, so this is a historical update, with a current note below on what can still be done with the controller.
Four games arrived on Stadia Pro in May 2020
Google’s May 29, 2020 update listed these four games as May additions to Stadia Pro:
- PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS
- Zombie Army 4: Dead War
- The Turing Test
- SteamWorld Heist
In the same post, Google looked ahead to six games coming in June: Get Packed, Little Nightmares, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, SUPERHOT, Panzer Dragoon Remake, and The Elder Scrolls Online. Google gave June 16 as the release date for The Elder Scrolls Online. These were June announcements, not May additions. Google’s May 2020 update also said twelve earlier titles remained available to add to the Pro collection:

- Spitlings

What “wireless controller support on PC” meant
Google Director of Product Andrey Doronichev wrote in the May 29 post: “We added support for wireless play using the Stadia Controller in a Chrome browser.” Players could pair the controller with Stadia in Chrome by entering the linking code displayed on Stadia.com. The announcement concerned wireless play through the Stadia service in a browser; it did not mean the controller could pair with a PC over standard Bluetooth.

That distinction matters because Stadia Controllers originally connected to Stadia over Wi-Fi for this feature. Bluetooth support was a separate capability Google enabled later through a conversion tool, and its availability had a deadline.
Stadia’s present-day status
Stadia is no longer operating. Google says its game servers shut down on January 18, 2023; the store is closed, commerce is disabled, and new Stadia Pro subscriptions cannot be started. The May 2020 game additions and browser feature are therefore historical, not available Stadia services today. See Google’s Stadia Announcement FAQ for the shutdown details.

Can you still use a Stadia Controller?
It depends on whether Bluetooth was enabled before Google’s conversion deadline. The Bluetooth conversion tool was available only through December 31, 2024, and that deadline has passed. A controller converted before then can connect to compatible devices over Bluetooth; USB connection remains an option. Converting permanently disables the controller’s Stadia Wi-Fi connectivity. Google’s documented Bluetooth targets
Google identifies Windows 10 and 11 with Steam, macOS 13 with Steam, ChromeOS, and Android as Bluetooth test targets. These are not guarantees that every game, device, or configuration will work: Google cautions that compatibility varies, other platforms and services have not been substantially tested, and haptics may be unsupported in some environments. The Bluetooth update itself required a computer, Chrome 108 or later, and a USB cable; that conversion workflow is no longer available after the deadline.
