What makes a game a real platforming-and-crafting match?
Look for two meaningful systems working together. Platforming should be a recurring way to traverse or solve the world, rather than an occasional jump. Crafting should have consequences for progression, equipment, survival, construction, or creative options—not just provide a side activity.
This distinction helps separate close matches from games that lean mostly toward strategy or survival crafting. A title can include both jumping and recipes without making either central to the experience.
Strongest fit: Dig or Die
GamesRadar’s description characterizes Dig or Die as a blend of defense and crafting with side-scrolling and platforming elements. You dig for resources on an alien planet, then craft items tied to survival and building a spaceship; you can also make a home and defenses. That gives crafting a direct relationship to navigating and enduring the adventure.

GamesRadar lists Gaddy Games as the developer, July 10, 2018 as the release date, and PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One as platforms. That platform list is guide metadata, not a guarantee of current availability in your region or on a particular storefront, so check the relevant listing before buying.
For a more creative-building approach: Astronimo
Astronimo’s official site describes platforming and customisation in a campaign, alongside a community moon with Steam Workshop sharing and a Garage Mode for creative construction. It is a useful contrast if open-ended building and customization appeal more than survival pressure. Check the official site and current storefront listing for up-to-date availability and platform details.

Adjacent examples—and where the fit becomes less direct
Craft the World: crafting with a stronger strategy tilt
GamesRadar’s description of Craft the World emphasizes crafting, building, growing a dwarven population, and large-scale battles. It also notes that the game can feel more like real-time strategy than a Terraria-style dungeon crawler. Consider it when management and battles sound appealing, but do not assume it is as platforming-centered as Dig or Die.
Adventure Craft: craft-focused, platforming not established
The Steam community page for Adventure Craft describes a procedurally generated open-world PvE survival-crafting action RPG featuring gathering, weapons and armor crafting, home building, and companion training. The page marks it Early Access. That description supports it as an adjacent crafting example, but does not establish platforming as a central mechanic.

A quick checklist for judging any candidate
- Movement: Are jumping and platform navigation important throughout, or limited to occasional traversal?
- Crafting’s impact: Does making items unlock useful gear, tools, survival choices, structures, defenses, or new creative possibilities?
- Pressure and pace: Does the game make gathering urgent through survival or defense demands, or offer a freer creative mode?
- Genre balance: Is the main experience action-platforming, exploration, survival, puzzle-solving, or strategy? A crafting-heavy game may shift toward management, as Craft the World illustrates.
- Practical access: Verify the platform, region, edition, and current storefront listing for the version you intend to play.
How to narrow down your next game
- Start with the role you want crafting to play. For survival, defenses, and progression connected to a side-scrolling world, investigate Dig or Die. For construction and customization, compare Astronimo.
- Check whether platforming is central. Read the game’s current description for recurring traversal or platform-based challenges; do not infer this from crafting or action-RPG labels alone.
- Match the pacing to your preference. Decide whether you want resource gathering under survival pressure or a more open-ended creative mode.
- Confirm access before committing. Use the current official or storefront listing to verify region, platform, edition, and availability.
