ROG Journey is a Counter-Strike 2 tournament series, not a single event with one permanent format. Its rules vary by stop. The latest example covered here is ROG Journey Autumn 2026, scheduled for October 2–3 in Skövde, Sweden; those match dates have passed. Its published rules describe open registration without a qualifier, followed by round-robin groups and a single-elimination playoff.
What is ROG Journey?
ROG Journey is a Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament series. Each stop has its own event details, including its entry route, bracket, venue, and schedule. Autumn 2026 and Summer 2026 illustrate why it is important to check the rules for the specific stop rather than assume one format applies across the series.
How did the Autumn 2026 format work?
ROG Journey Autumn 2026 was scheduled for October 2–3 at Billingehus Spa Hotel in Skövde, Sweden. The event page described the following format:
- Group stage: Teams play a BO1 round-robin. The page illustrated the format with 24 teams split into four groups of six, giving each team five matches. It said group sizes and match counts would be adjusted to the final number of teams, so that illustration was not a guaranteed field configuration.
- Group winners: First place in each group advances directly to the quarterfinals.
- Second- and third-place teams: These teams play a Best-of-3 knockout stage for the remaining playoff places.
- Playoffs: The playoffs are single-elimination Best-of-3 matches.
Here, BO1 means a match is decided in one map; Best-of-3 means teams play up to three maps, with the first to win two taking the match.

How did qualification and registration work for Autumn?
The Autumn event page described the tournament as open for anyone, with no direct VRS invites, no wildcard invites, and no open qualifier. Its registration window ran from July 6 at 12:00 CEST through September 30 at 12:00 CEST, 2026. That window has closed; Autumn registration is not currently open.
Entry rules differed at the Summer 2026 stop, which was announced as a 32-team event. Glitched said 30 places were available through first-come registration and two through an open BYOC qualifier in Jönköping. BYOC means “bring your own computer,” and in this case referred to an in-person qualifier. Summer therefore had an additional qualification route that Autumn did not.

How did Summer 2026 differ from Autumn?
Summer’s announced format also differed after teams entered. Glitched said the eight highest-ranked teams went directly into a double-elimination Best-of-3 playoff. The other 24 teams played BO1 groups, with the top eight advancing. Glitched identified Summer as a VRS Tier 2 tournament and announced a SEK 200,000 prize pool; those are Summer-specific details, not established Autumn terms.
| Event detail | Autumn 2026 | Summer 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Entry route | Open registration; no direct VRS or wildcard invites and no open qualifier | 30 first-come registration places and two BYOC qualifier places |
| Announced field and initial structure | 24-team illustration: four groups of six; subject to adjustment to the final team count | 32 teams; eight highest-ranked teams placed directly into playoffs, with the other 24 playing BO1 groups |
| Playoff format | Single-elimination Best-of-3 | Double-elimination Best-of-3 |
| Prize pool | Not stated on the reviewed Autumn event page | SEK 200,000, announced by Glitched for Summer |
These differences are why qualification and bracket details should be checked on the page for the specific ROG Journey stop.

Where can you follow ROG Journey?
For Autumn 2026, the event page said matches would not start before 14:00 CEST on Friday, October 2, with the first matches scheduled for 14:00. It directed readers to the official ROG Journey Discord for schedule updates. The reviewed Autumn information does not confirm a live broadcast service, so no streaming platform can be named from that announcement. Because the event dates have passed, check the Discord for organizer updates rather than expecting a live Autumn schedule.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should participants bring?
The Autumn event page said players must bring their own headset and in-ear headphones, and that headsets would not be provided for all games. Teams planning to attend should account for that equipment requirement.
