InfoWorld’s 2006 Technology of the Year Awards named products across enterprise IT categories, recognizing technologies that had stood out around the close of 2005. Here is the complete winners list, organized by the magazine’s award categories. These are historical awards—not recommendations or evidence of current availability, support, compatibility, or performance.
InfoWorld published the list on January 2, 2006. Its categories range from servers and storage to security and collaboration. The award names and brief descriptions below reflect the magazine’s judgments at the time; they should not be read as current product specifications. Computerwoche’s contemporaneous coverage framed the recipients as the best products of 2005.

- Best Document Manager: Xerox DocuShare 4.0.1 — the magazine noted collaboration, personalization, ease of use, and extensibility.
- Best Web Analytics: Omniture SiteCatalyst 12 — described as a tool for analyzing site traffic and addressing site problems.
Xerox’s January 31, 2006 release also reported the DocuShare award and described document capture, review, approval, management, and publishing. A NASA Spinoff account records that NASA Ames and Xerox established a technology partnership in 2004, and that NASA’s NX Knowledge Network used Xerox DocuShare CPX for document management. The account also notes the award for DocuShare 4.0.1; it does not establish that version’s present-day availability.
