To pair the Switch 2-specific Rematch Wireless Controller, open Controllers > Change Grip/Order with a Joy-Con, hold the Rematch sync button for three seconds, then press L and R on the Rematch. To set up the Rematch Wired Controller, connect its USB cable to the Switch 2 dock; if it does not connect automatically, open Change Grip/Order and press L and R.
Identify which Rematch controller you have
Turtle Beach sells Switch 2-specific Rematch wireless and wired controllers. Check whether yours pairs with a sync button or connects through a USB cable before following the setup steps.

These compatibility notes apply to the Switch 2-specific models. Older Rematch versions have different feature and compatibility details: Turtle Beach says its earlier wireless Rematch works with Switch 2, but its C Button is unavailable there. Its older wired FAQ lists the original Switch and Switch OLED when used with the dock; it does not establish Switch 2 compatibility for that older wired model.
Pair the Rematch Wireless Controller
- Turn on the Switch 2. Use a connected Joy-Con to open Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
- Press and hold the Rematch controller’s sync button for three seconds.
- When the console is ready to pair, press L and R on the Rematch.
Turtle Beach describes the Switch 2-specific wireless model’s C Button as providing quick access to GameChat features. The controller includes a USB-C charging cable.

If a previously paired wireless controller will not reconnect
Open Controllers > Change Grip/Order and press L and R on the controller when prompted.
Set up the Rematch Wired Controller
- Connect the controller’s USB cable to a USB port on the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
- Wait for the controller to connect automatically. If it does not, open System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order. You can also choose Change Grip/Order from the Controllers menu on the Home screen.
- Press L and R on the controller when prompted.
Turtle Beach lists the wired model’s cable as 10 feet (3 meters). It does not need a battery.

What to check if setup does not match these steps
- Confirm the model generation: Older Rematch wireless and wired controllers have different Switch 2 compatibility notes and may not have the same features as the Switch 2-specific versions.
- For wireless pairing: Start from Change Grip/Order; for a controller already paired before, press L and R when prompted.
- For wired setup: Make sure the controller is connected to a USB port on the Switch 2 dock. If automatic connection fails, use Change Grip/Order and press L and R when prompted.
