You can no longer buy SpaceX shares before its IPO: SpaceX priced its public offering on June 11, 2026, and said trading was expected to begin the next day under ticker SPCX. The $135 offering price was a historical IPO price, not a current quote. For current trading status, price and availability, check the company’s latest SEC filings and your brokerage platform.
Can you still invest in SpaceX before it goes public?
No. SpaceX had already priced its IPO by June 11, 2026, so the pre-IPO window is closed. The company announced an offering of 555,555,555 Class A shares at $135 per share and said trading was expected to begin June 12 on Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas under ticker SPCX. Those are historical offering terms; they do not establish the present share price or confirm current trading details. See SpaceX’s June 11, 2026 pricing release and its SEC filings for issuer information.
How the IPO participation process worked
At the time of the offering, SpaceX’s SEC-filed investor FAQ described participation through brokerage platforms, not a direct purchase from the company by simply submitting a request.
- Open an account with a participating brokerage. The issuer said an active account was required.
- Submit an indication of interest through that platform. The indication expressed interest in the IPO; it was not a completed purchase or a guarantee of shares.
- Wait for the platform’s eligibility and allocation decision. The broker or app determined who could participate and confirmed any allocation.
That process was specific to the IPO and is no longer an open application route. The prospectus and related filings contain the offer terms; consult current filings and your broker for information about any present-day way to trade.

What SpaceX disclosed about shares and investor risk
Different voting rights
The offering used two share classes. Class A carried one vote per share; Class B carried ten votes per share, and Class B holders were entitled to elect a majority of the board. SpaceX’s filings warned that this structure concentrated voting control and could limit or prevent Class A investors from influencing corporate matters and director elections.
Dividends and potential loss
SpaceX said it did not anticipate paying cash dividends in the foreseeable future. Its 2026 offering prospectus warned in its Australian-investor materials: “AN INVESTMENT IN SPACEX IS HIGHLY SPECULATIVE AND YOU MAY LOSE SOME OR ALL OF THE VALUE OF YOUR INVESTMENT.” Read the issuer’s current SEC filings for updated disclosures; these points are material terms, not a complete independent assessment of the investment.

What to check before buying shares through a broker
If your brokerage platform offers SPCX, verify the details that apply to your account and location before placing an order:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Whether SPCX is currently available to trade and whether you are eligible to buy it.
- The live quote, order type, any fees and the total amount you could lose.
- Whether you are buying the publicly listed Class A security and what voting rights attach to it.
- Current company filings, including risk factors and any changes to share structure or dividend policy.
The IPO announcement identified Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas as intended listing venues, but it is not a current confirmation of listing status, broker access or price. Your brokerage platform and the latest issuer filings are the appropriate places to verify those details.
