The Ryzen 5 7500X3D is an official, launched AMD desktop processor—not an unreleased retail rumor. A UK listing spotted in October 2025 preceded its November 12 launch; AMD’s product page now confirms its specifications. It is a six-core Zen 4 CPU for the AM5 platform, with 3D V-Cache aimed at gaming, but whether it is a budget buy depends on local CPU and platform prices.
What the original retail sighting showed
On October 27, 2025, HotHardware reported that UK retailer Westcoast had prepared a page for the then-unreleased Ryzen 5 7500X3D. The page identified a tray processor but did not confirm specifications or a price. Details speculated about at the time should not be treated as product facts; AMD later published the official specifications. HotHardware’s report
AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D specifications
AMD lists the 7500X3D as a Zen 4 desktop processor, codenamed Raphael, with 3D V-Cache. The figures below are AMD’s product specifications for the processor launched in 2025. AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D specifications

|---|---|
| Cores and threads | 6 cores and 12 threads |
| Base / maximum boost clock | 4.0 GHz / up to 4.5 GHz |
| Cache | 384 KB L1, 6 MB L2, 96 MB L3 |
| Default TDP | 65 W |
| Maximum operating temperature | 89°C |
| Platform and memory | Socket AM5; DDR5 |
| PCI Express | PCIe 5.0 |
| Integrated graphics | AMD Radeon Graphics, 2 graphics cores at 2200 MHz |
Motherboard, memory and cooler compatibility
The processor uses Socket AM5 and DDR5 memory, so it is not a drop-in upgrade for an AM4 system built around DDR4. AMD lists A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840 and B850 chipset families as supported. That list does not replace checking the CPU support list and BIOS guidance for the exact motherboard: verify both before buying.

AMD says the boxed processor does not include a thermal solution and recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance. The listing does not establish that every build requires liquid cooling or specify a tested cooler. Budget for an AM5-compatible cooler and check its compatibility with the case and build.

Availability and launch-era pricing
The UK listing was an early sighting, not evidence of current stock. Tom’s Hardware reported on November 12, 2025 that UK retailers were selling the CPU at launch, with prices from £239.99 to £269.99. Those are launch-period UK prices, not current quotes. The same report said AMD had described it as an EMEA-exclusive SKU, with US availability at that time through a Micro Center prebuilt. That historical report does not establish availability in 2026. A separate Tom’s Hardware report dated November 11, 2025 described Micro Center PowerSpec systems: a G528 with RTX 5060 8 GB, 16 GB DDR5-6000 and a 1 TB SSD was listed at $899.99; a G527 with RX 9060 XT 16 GB and 32 GB RAM was reported as costing $100 more. These were dated prebuilt configurations, not current offers. Tom’s Hardware’s Micro Center prebuilt report
What reviews say about gaming performance
In its November 12, 2025 review, PC Gamer compared the 7500X3D with the Ryzen 5 7600X3D and found the 7500X3D a little behind in most gaming benchmarks, with only small frame-rate differences in most of its tested cases. The reviewer considered its value more favorably once price was factored in. This is one review’s result, not a promise for every game or system. The test platform used an MSI MPG X870E Edge Ti WiFi motherboard, 32 GB DDR5-6000, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and an MSI 360 mm liquid cooler; the review discussed the CPU in a $269 price context. Include the motherboard, DDR5 memory and cooler, then consider whether the graphics card and workload suit a six-core gaming-focused processor. The older AM4 Ryzen 5 5700X3D is another possible route, but it keeps a build on the older DDR4 platform; the right choice depends on actual local offers and whether a later platform upgrade matters to you.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the 7500X3D a good budget gaming CPU?
It can make sense when its local price and the total cost of an AM5/DDR5 build are competitive, and gaming is the priority. The 2025 review suggests it can perform close to the 7600X3D in many of that publication’s tested cases, while AMD’s official specifications confirm a 65 W default TDP and a six-core, 12-thread design. It is not automatically the cheapest gaming option: compare complete platform costs and current regional availability, and do not treat launch prices as today’s market price.
