Eight sites featured in a May 2025 Fossbytes list are SolidTorrents, AIO Search, Torrentz2, Toorgle, TorrentSeeker, Snowfl, Xtorx, and Veoble. Fossbytes labeled them “Working” at the time, but that is not a current availability, safety, or quality check. A search result also does not show that a file is safe, authentic, or authorized to download.
What the eight-site list tells you—and what it does not
Fossbytes’ article, published May 4 and updated May 12, 2025, describes these services as ways to find torrents listed elsewhere, rather than as hosts of the files themselves. Its feature descriptions are a dated account of the services, not a verified description of how they operate today.
The title’s phrase “any torrent” is an overstatement: no search engine can guarantee that it will find every torrent, that a result is genuine, or that the material is lawful to share. The sources available for this comparison do not establish which of the eight is currently safest, most reliable, or accessible in every country.
Eight torrent search sites in the 2025 list
The descriptions below are attributed to Fossbytes’ 2025 article. “Not stated” means the article did not establish the information; it should not be read as a claim that a service lacks the feature.

Fossbytes’ descriptions suggest different ways of discovering listings, but they do not provide a consistent live comparison of result quality, source transparency, redirects, advertising, HTTPS, regional access, or links to authorized publishers. There is therefore no evidence-based winner among these eight.
How to judge a result before using it
Treat a search engine as a discovery tool, not a trust or permission check. Before downloading or sharing, assess both the material and the source offering it.

- Confirm permission. Use torrents only for material you have the right to download or share, such as your own files or content offered with the rightsholder’s permission.
- Trace the listing. Prefer an authorized publisher or a source you can independently verify. A result’s presence in a search engine does not establish its origin or authenticity.
- Watch for risky behavior. Be wary of lookalike domains, unexpected redirects, misleading download buttons, and prompts to install software. Do not disable security protections to open a file.
- Keep claims in perspective. A large index, a popular domain, or a result count does not prove that a listing is accurate, safe, lawful, or available.
TorrentFreak’s January 3, 2026 overview says BitTorrent technology itself is not illegal, but should be used to share content only with rightsholder permission. It also warns that sites in its list can involve copyright concerns and malicious advertising. That is a general caution, not a safety certification for any of the eight sites here. Copyright rules and consequences vary by jurisdiction, so check the law that applies where you are.
Search websites, trackers, and torrent clients are different
A search website helps locate listings on other services. A tracker helps participating peers find one another for a particular torrent; an index or listing site catalogs torrent references. A torrent client is the software used to handle torrent downloads and uploads. These roles can overlap in some products, but they are not interchangeable.

qBittorrent is a client, not another standalone search website in the eight-site list. Its official project describes an open-source BitTorrent client with a built-in search engine that can query multiple torrent sites. That feature does not verify the sites it searches or make their listings authorized.
If a torrent search site does not load
- Check the address carefully. Do not assume that a similarly named domain or mirror is genuine. Avoid pages that ask you to install an unexpected extension or client just to search.
- Consider change or access restrictions. A service may be offline, may have changed domains, or may be blocked by a network or regional rule. The available sources do not establish which explanation applies to any particular site today.
- Do not treat a workaround as verification. Finding another address for a service does not prove its ownership, safety, or legality. Do not bypass a restriction where doing so would violate local law or network rules.
- Use a trustworthy, authorized source instead. If you cannot verify the service or the listing, stop rather than downloading from a substitute page.
What popularity and status claims can establish
Neither the eight-site list nor the other cited material supplies a uniform current audit of uptime, safe results, or authorized content for these search engines. TorrentFreak’s January 3, 2026 ranking is a dated popularity overview based on traffic reports and single domains; it notes that proxies and alternative domains can affect comparisons. Popularity is not a measure of safety or legitimacy.

A Motion Picture Association 2025 submission reports, citing Similarweb, that 1337x received over 40 million visits in August 2025. That figure is an attributed estimate about 1337x, a site outside the eight-site list—not a measure of any search engine’s quality. The MPA and a USTR Notorious Markets submission also make allegations about piracy services, including 1337x; a submission or nomination is not itself a court finding or proof of a site’s present-day status.
