Windows 11 lists the controls independently, so you can check or change each behavior in Settings rather than treating them as one feature.
How text suggestions and autocorrect differ

Microsoft’s documentation confirms that these are separate controls, but it does not specify every app’s behavior or the precise trigger for autocorrect. Do not assume every application applies corrections in the same way.
Turn physical-keyboard text suggestions on or off
- Open Settings > Time & language > Typing.
- Find Show text suggestions when typing on the physical keyboard and switch it on or off.
- If you want suggestions for more than one language, also review Multilingual text suggestions.
Microsoft says suggestions appear above the cursor and become more accurate as you type more letters. To use one, select it with a mouse or touch, or navigate with the Up Arrow and Left/Right Arrow keys and press Enter. Press Esc or click outside the suggestions window to dismiss the list.
Change autocorrect separately
In Settings > Time & language > Typing, look for Autocorrect misspelled words. Change that control independently of Show text suggestions when typing on the physical keyboard. This lets you configure suggestions without assuming that autocorrect must also be on, or vice versa.

If the navigation or label differs on your Windows build, search Settings for Typing. The exact behavior may also vary by application; Microsoft’s cited documentation does not establish a universal correction trigger or app coverage.
Physical keyboard, touch keyboard, and On-Screen Keyboard are different
Physical keyboard
The setting above applies to typing with a physical keyboard. Its separate multilingual-suggestions switch is not the same as the prediction option documented for the accessibility On-Screen Keyboard.

Touch keyboard
The touch keyboard is Windows’ keyboard interface for touchscreen input. Microsoft describes multiple layouts, including default, split, small, traditional, and handwriting, in its Get to know the touch keyboard guide. Do not assume its behavior is identical to physical-keyboard suggestions.
Accessibility On-Screen Keyboard
The accessibility On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) has its own prediction control. Microsoft documents it under Options > Use Text Prediction and lists English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish for that OSK option; language files may need to be installed. Those language details apply to OSK prediction, not necessarily to Windows 11’s physical-keyboard suggestions. See Microsoft’s Use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) to type instructions.
