Choose a Star Wars game by the kind of play you want first, then use recent reviews for the exact platform to judge how well that game delivers. A Jedi story, open-world outlaw adventure, large shooter battle, starfighter dogfight, tactical campaign, and LEGO retelling are very different experiences; there is no one best choice for every player.
Start with the kind of game you want to play
StarWars.com’s game guide frames the catalogue around genre and play style and offers a selection quiz. Treat that as a way to discover candidates, not as an objective quality ranking. First decide whether you want a focused solo story, an open world, competitive battles, a long-term online role-playing game, or something family-friendly.

This is a taste-matching shortlist, not a ranking. Official descriptions tell you the intended format and core loop; they do not establish difficulty, pacing, technical quality, or whether a game is available on your particular device.
Use reviews to assess execution, not just genre
A game’s category tells you whether its basic idea appeals to you. Reviews help answer whether the combat feels good, whether missions stay varied, how the story is paced, and how reliably the specific version runs. Look for current reviews of the exact platform and edition you would play.

#1 Best Overall
- The following games are included in the cartridge: STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (3.6 GB)
- STAR WARS Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (1.1 GB)
- STAR WARS Episode I Racer (254 MB)
- STAR WARS Republic Commando (2.5 GB)
- STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed (3.4 GB)
- Look for repeated observations. Note recurring comments about combat, world or level design, mission variety, story pacing, controls, performance, bugs, and accessibility. One reviewer’s preference is less useful than a pattern across several reviews.
- Separate critic reviews from player feedback. They can reveal different things, but both need context: player comments may concern a different platform, update, or online environment.
- Check when the review was published. A review may predate patches, expansions, or another platform’s release. Do not assume an older assessment fully describes the current version.
- Translate criticism into your priorities. A limitation matters most when it affects what you value. For example, a concern about online matchmaking is central if multiplayer is your main reason to play, but less so if you want the campaign.
GameSpot’s May 2026 editorial all-time roundup can help surface games to investigate. It is a curated selection, not a complete platform-by-platform review-score dataset, so use it for discovery rather than as proof that one title is the best fit for you.
Check platform, version, and access before deciding
Once you have a candidate, verify that the current edition is listed for your console, PC store, or mobile system. A title’s availability and technical quality can differ by platform; do not transfer a review from one version to another without checking what it covers. The official Star Wars games catalogue and publisher pages are useful for discovery, but a live store listing is the practical check for current platform support and edition details.
Rank #2
- Standard Edition for PlayStation 5 (disc) includes the full Star Wars Zero Company game. Single-player turn-based tactics set in the twilight of the Clone Wars—lead Hawks and Zero Company in an intense campaign.
- Build your squad from clone troopers, scoundrels, astromechs and even a Jedi—combine abilities and gear in deep Tactical-Strategy combat.
- Plan at your base, adapt on dynamic battlefields and make decisions that shape missions and replayability in this cinematic Star Wars story.
- Customise Hawks and your operatives, tailor loadouts and unlock powerful squad synergies designed for Strategy, Turn-Based and Sci-Fi fans.
Price and subscription access also change. EA’s EA Play page lists some Star Wars games in Play Lists and describes plan terms, but inclusion, price, and platform conditions can vary by region and change over time. Before choosing a subscription over a purchase, confirm the current regional plan, platform limits, and that the exact game is still included.

- Name your preferred loop: Jedi combat and exploration, stealth and open-world missions, vehicle combat, infantry shooting, tactical squad play, MMO role-play, mobile team building, or LEGO action.
- Choose the structure you want: a focused campaign, an open-ended world, repeatable multiplayer, an ongoing online world, or collection-based play.
- Decide who will play: consider solo play, online competition or cooperation, a shared family experience, or a long-term character and progression journey.
- Read platform-matched reviews: check execution and technical notes for the exact version, then weigh recurring strengths and drawbacks against your priorities.
- Verify the current listing and cost: confirm platform, edition, price, and—if relevant—subscription availability before committing.
If reviews do not settle a question such as pacing or difficulty, gameplay footage can help you judge the feel for yourself. Neither a trailer nor an official description is a substitute for current, platform-specific evidence about performance or controls.
