First, find the transfer’s transaction ID (TxID) or transaction hash in the sending service’s withdrawal history. If there is no TxID, the service may not have broadcast the transfer. If there is one, check it on an explorer for the exact network used. That reveals whether the transaction is pending, failed, or successful—and helps identify whether the sender or recipient platform is the next party to contact.
Trace the transfer to find where it stopped
A crypto remittance can be delayed at three separate stages: the sending service is still processing the withdrawal; the transaction is on the blockchain but pending or unconfirmed; or the transaction succeeded on-chain but the receiving platform has not credited the deposit. These are distinct steps, as Binance’s withdrawal guidance explains.
- Open the sending service’s withdrawal history. Look for a TxID, transaction hash, or explorer link, and note the service’s current status.
- If a TxID is present, open it in an explorer for the exact network used. Check the result, confirmation count, sender and destination addresses, asset, amount, and transaction time. OKX describes these details in its transaction-status instructions.
- Compare the transaction with the intended remittance. Confirm the network, asset, full destination address, and any required memo or tag. An address that looks familiar does not prove the correct network was selected.
- Check the receiving platform’s deposit page and account notices. Review its supported asset and network, confirmation requirement, deposit minimum, memo/tag requirements, and any request for identity or profile information.
Use the stage you find to choose the next step: a missing TxID or unconfirmed transaction is generally a sender-side issue; a confirmed transaction that meets the recipient’s requirements but is not credited calls for the receiving platform.
If the sending service has not provided a TxID
A withdrawal marked pending or processing without a TxID may still be within the sending service rather than on-chain. Check its withdrawal history and status first. If it remains in processing beyond the service’s stated guidance, contact that service through its official support channel.

Timing guidance is provider-specific, not a universal crypto deadline. Binance’s FAQ says a TxID is typically generated within 30–60 minutes and advises contacting support if one is still absent six hours after email confirmation. That FAQ is dated January 3, 2018 and warns that its information may be outdated, so check the current instructions in your Binance account before relying on those timings.
If the blockchain transaction is pending or unconfirmed
Check whether confirmations are increasing and compare the current count with the receiving service’s required threshold for that asset and network. Network congestion, low fees, too few confirmations, or a temporary issue with a node or service can all delay progress. Confirmation requirements and transaction speeds vary; there is no dependable arrival time that applies to every network and provider. Circle’s USDC Bridge troubleshooting guidance recommends monitoring confirmations and waiting when they are progressing. Coinbase and OKX also explain pending transactions and confirmation delays in their support pages.

- Confirmations are increasing: Continue monitoring the transaction and the recipient’s deposit status.
- Confirmations are not progressing, or the transaction has failed: Ask the sender or sending service to investigate using the TxID and current explorer status.
- You are considering a replacement, acceleration, or rebroadcast: Some self-custody wallets offer these options, but availability depends on the chain, wallet, and transaction state. Check that wallet’s official instructions before acting; do not submit a duplicate transfer just to test whether the first arrived.
A Lightning payment has different timing from an ordinary on-chain transfer. Coinbase says a Lightning invoice may remain pending for up to 72 hours or until the sender completes it; this guidance applies to Lightning transactions specifically, not to other networks.
If the explorer says successful but the deposit is missing
On-chain success does not itself mean a receiving platform has credited the deposit. Compare the transaction against the recipient’s deposit requirements: supported asset and network, required confirmations, minimum deposit, and any memo or tag. Check that the complete destination address and memo/tag match the transaction record.

Then review the receiving account’s wallet or deposit history, asset filters, service notices, and account alerts. A platform may require an account action before crediting funds. Coinbase, for example, says completing requested account actions can delay a receive credit by 3–5 business days after those actions are completed. Treat that as Coinbase-specific guidance, not a general processing estimate.
If the transaction is confirmed, the route details match, and the recipient’s published confirmation threshold is met, contact the receiving platform through its official support channel. Provide the TxID and ask whether the asset and network are supported and whether manual credit or a recovery process is available. For a bridge transfer, contact the bridge provider as well if its instructions identify a bridge-side issue. Recovery depends on the provider, asset, network, and region; neither manual credit nor recovery is guaranteed.

If the wrong address, network, asset, or memo was used
Stop and record exactly what was sent, the destination, and the network. Contact the service that controls the destination address through a support site you reach independently, and ask whether recovery is possible. A missing or incorrect memo or tag can prevent a platform from identifying a deposit; an incorrect address, asset, or network can make funds unrecoverable. Coinbase explicitly says it cannot recover funds sent on the wrong network, and its guidance and OKX’s warn that recovery is not guaranteed.
Do not pay an unexpected caller or message sender who claims they can unlock, reverse, or recover the funds. Use the official exchange, wallet, or bridge support route; do not share recovery phrases, private keys, or account passwords as part of a support request.

What to include in a support request
Gather these details before contacting the service that can act at the stalled stage:
- TxID or explorer link, if one exists
- Asset, amount, and sending and receiving networks
- Full destination address and any memo or tag
- Date and time, including timezone
- Current status and confirmation count
- Name of the sending and receiving services
- Screenshots or records from the withdrawal and deposit histories
For a Circle bridge issue, Circle requests the transaction hash, wallet address, provider and version, source and destination networks, date and time, USDC amount, and web or mobile platform plus browser and operating system details. Binance’s no-TxID escalation example asks for a withdrawal-history screenshot. Share records only through the service’s official support channel.

Provider rules, recovery options, and external complaint routes vary by service and jurisdiction. This troubleshooting guidance does not establish one universal regulator or legal remedy.
