If Gemini’s @ menu is missing an app, first check whether that app is available in the Gemini app, account, and device you’re using. The menu selects Connected Apps; Google Maps information can work separately, so a missing “Google Maps” entry does not by itself mean Gemini cannot answer Maps questions.
What the @ command does—and why results vary
In Gemini, type @ and select a Connected App to tell Gemini which app to use. If the app is not connected, Gemini may offer to connect it or ask for permission. The suggestions are not a universal list: availability can vary by Gemini app or device, account type, location, language, and other requirements. Google’s Connected Apps guide explains how to manage the list and inspect individual app details.
Why Google Maps may be missing from the picker
Google documents Gemini as using public information from Google Maps to help with place searches, place details, and directions. That Maps capability is distinct from selecting an app in the @ menu. If “Google Maps” is absent from the picker, try asking directly for a Maps task, such as “Find coffee shops near this address” or “Give me directions to [destination].” A missing picker entry alone does not prove that public Maps information is unavailable.
Google also notes that some Maps features are being released gradually and have eligibility conditions. Its Maps help page describes supported tasks, requirements, and actions that are not supported.

Troubleshoot missing Connected Apps in order

Check the Gemini surface and account you are actually using
Open Connected Apps settings in the same Gemini app and account where
@is failing. Google says an app may be available in the mobile app but not on the web app, or the reverse; the settings list reflects availability for that app and account. -
Sign in and review Keep Activity
Connected Apps require sign-in. With Keep Activity off, Connected Apps are unavailable on Gemini web, iOS devices, and smart watches. Android retains a restricted set. If you are signed out, features that depend on Keep Activity—including integrations with other Google services—are unavailable. See Google’s Connected Apps guidance and signed-out limitations.

For a work or school account, check Workspace access
Connected Apps on an organization account can depend on the Workspace edition, Keep Activity, and whether an administrator has enabled access. If the setting or app is unavailable, ask your Google Workspace administrator whether the organization permits it. Google’s work and school account instructions describe these requirements.

Check that the specific app is supported for your situation
Open the Connected Apps details and review the app’s requirements and supported actions. Availability may depend on account type, age, location, language, subscription, Gemini app, or mode. Google’s availability and requirements table lists conditions by app; an app can appear unavailable even when another app or account can use it.

Make the request explicit, especially in Workspace
For work or school accounts, Google says to ask Gemini in each new conversation to use the other app or service. Start the prompt with
@and the app name when available, or name the service and include useful search terms. If@does not offer the app, try a direct request naming the service; this clarifies the task but cannot override account or administrator restrictions.
Check whether the Maps action itself is supported
Gemini Maps support is not the same as full access to every Google Maps feature. Google documents finding places, getting place details, and directions. Its Maps help page lists unsupported actions including saving location history, using saved places other than Work or Home, providing live traffic updates, and adding a review. Some additional Maps features are gradually released and may require sign-in, a personal Google Account, being at least 18, and using English.
