To customize Plex Home on Android TV, pin and arrange the sources you want in the app’s sidebar. To hide or reorder recommendation rows inside a personal library, the Plex Media Server owner must change that library’s settings in Plex Web. These are separate controls: pinning decides which libraries contribute to Home; server settings decide which rows a library contributes.
Choose which sources appear on Home
Plex says the sources pinned in the big-screen app’s sidebar are the main factor determining what appears on Home, and their order affects the order of Home content. Unpinned sources remain available under More.
- Open the left navigation sidebar in the Plex app on Android TV.
- Select Edit.
- Pin the libraries or other sources you want represented on Home, unpin sources you do not want there, and arrange the pinned sources in your preferred order.
These sidebar customizations apply to that app installation; reinstalling the app removes them. Plex also documents account-synced favorite libraries in modern apps, but that is a separate control from the app-install-specific sidebar customization.
Hide or reorder rows inside a personal library
Rows such as Recently Added or Recently Played are configured by the Plex Media Server owner or administrator, not by a shared viewer in the Android TV app. In Plex Web, open Settings > Server > Manage > Libraries, choose the target library, then select Manage Recommendations.

The settings let the admin configure recommendations for the library’s Recommended screen, the owner’s Home, and Shared Users’ Home. A shared user can see the admin-configured rows only when that user has pinned the library in their player app. Plex documents Continue Watching as an exception to this pinned-library condition.
Plex’s support article specifies Plex Media Server v1.22.1 or newer and Plex Web v4.53.0 or newer for Manage Recommendations. Those are the documented minimum versions in an article last modified April 26, 2021, not a statement of current release versions.

Set the order of rows and library groups
In Manage Recommendations, the server admin can drag rows into the order they want. On Home, rows are grouped by library; the library groups follow the order in which the viewer pinned those libraries. Empty rows do not appear until they contain items.
This means there are two ordering levels: the viewer arranges source groups in the Android TV sidebar, while the admin arranges recommendation rows within each library in Plex Web.

Add a custom collection row
A server admin can make a collection visible as a row on Home or on a library’s Recommended screen. Plex specifies all of these requirements: Plex Media Server v1.22.3 or newer, Plex Web v4.56.3 or newer, and an active Plex Pass on the server admin account.
To enable it, open the collection’s menu and choose Visible On, then select the supported destination. A smart collection can provide a custom shelf using library filters and sorting. Collection visibility is not available under the documented conditions to every shared user without qualification.

Pin Discover or change which tab opens
To put Discover in the sidebar, open More, focus Discover, and choose Pin from its source menu. Plex says pinning Discover provides quick access to some Discover rows on Home.
The Android TV setting Remember selected tab has a different purpose: it remembers the last tab opened for each source, such as Recommended, Library, or Collections. It does not select or manage Home recommendation rows.

Refresh or reset Plex customization
Changes can take time to appear because player apps may cache information. Refresh the app; on a TV app, Plex recommends quitting and restarting it.
